Two Secret Service supervisors and three members of the agency's elite Counter-Assault Teams were among the 11 agents sent back from Colombia and placed on administrative leave over allegations that they brought prostitutes to their hotel rooms in Cartagena, law enforcement officials tell NBC News.
The involvement of Counter-Assault Team (CAT) members-- who are not members of the Uniformed Division, but full-fledged Secret Service agents -- ratchets up the seriousness of the incident, officials said. The heavily armed agents play a key role in protecting the president, serving as part of any presidential motorcade, usually a few cars back from the president's. Their responsibility is to "neutralize" any attack "as quickly as possible," according to the Secret Service website.
"Their job is to fend off a heavy assault on the motorcade to give POTUS a chance to flee to a safe locale," one law enforcement source familiar with the investigation told NBC News, speaking on condition of anonymity.

Actually, I read in another account that these guys were dog-handlers, people trained to do pat and frisk, and other relatively low-level people. They actually weren’t getting off duty after having been an advance detail, but were just arriving for their job and were warming up, so to speak.
I seriously can’t imagine full-fledged agents risking their careers for a fling with a hooker, especially since one of the things they are told from the very beginning is to avoid hookers simply because they are major security risks (they can steal the identities, passwords, badges, guns, etc. of their clients).
And the 5 members of Special Forces were not involved, but apparently were restricted to quarters for having returned to their lodgings late.
Of course, there are many conflicting stories coming about about this, so who knows?
I wouldn't doubt if Obama said, “go have some fun boys but if you get caught I knew nothing”.

As I understand it, the real argument is that some of these guys were married, and so could have been subject to blackmail. I'm kind of curious about what they'd nail the single guys for, though. I mean, military guys getting hookers overseas is not exactly unheard of.
Maybe they were undercover agents. You can groan now.

This looks like a coordinated effort by some foreign intelligence service to probe the security arrangements surrounding Barry. For what purpose we can only speculate.
I would say the evidence points to a handful of countries who have shown a historic fondness for “honey pot” operations.
