Eight Minutes You Missed: George Zimmerman’s Former Lawyer’s Press Conference
Press Conference ^ | 04/17/2012 | Joan of Argghh!

Posted on 04/17/2012 10:02:57 AM PDT by JoanVarga

Since April 11th, the MSM has known at least as much as George Zimmerman's former lawyer told them about the facts of the case. Those facts were woefully out of line with the Narrative. So the MSM just let us wonder about the strange moment and didn't find much else very interesting. Except that it was.

That's why you didn't see this.

It's part of the entire 45 minutes' presser. All you or I got to see was a somewhat strange assembly listening to some lawyers throwing their client under the bus, or publicly wondering whether they had been thrown under the bus. Either way, it's too bad, because that eight minutes should be no mystery to anyone who has followed the facts of the case, sans media filtering.

But it's more than that. The man calls out the race-mongers in no uncertain terms:

...we've had some people come to town who are only relevant in an area of racial strife. . . who, frankly, have a business model based on driving division in racial communities. . .

And he calls out one of Martin's attorneys as well:

. . .actually had an attorney for the Martin family who, as far as we know actually went to law school, get on the air and say, "They need to just go ahead and arrest him and let him prove his innocence in a court of law." Really? In the United States? I don't think so!

Note that he's a former police officer and legal police adviser. He absolutely has to school the young pups about law, offense, and how facts work toward truth. He really throws down. After watching it from the 28 minute mark forward, I almost think he resigned just so he could smack the press around. He really goes after them and especially after the feely-meely questions from the women. Full of goodness. No wonder the press doesn't like this guy.

Watch the whole thing from about 28 minutes on. It's a completely impolitic rant. Satisfying. Or just click link above for the short version of the facts of the case. Either way, I found it worth the time:

Full 45 minute press conference here.

Get the popcorn and enjoy!

"Hell, as the last of eight kids, my own mother rarely got my name right. My first name."

I know where your mother was coming from. I am doing the same thing with my grandkids. Their names all start with a J, so I keep going down the list of J names. First names are ok to get wrong. Now if she got your last name wrong that might have been a problem. :-)

I agree the lawyer did lay it on the reporters otherwise. I do wonder why Zimmermon quit them though.

Fortunately, I do not look like the mailman. . .

In America: One is "presumed innocent" until "proven guilty" in a court of law.

One does not have to prove one's innocence!

The Martin family attorney should be brought before the bar!

Affirmative action, maybe?

Anyway, if I ever get in serious trouble with the law I’m looking up Zimmerman’s former attorney!

Just in case, then, he spells his name, “Uhrig.”

Thanks to Scoutmaster for the excellent follow ups and transcriptions!

Look, I can cherry pick apart every single person alive with negative things they do/did. Even you, if I knew you, have issues you can probably be shown not to the best examples of what it takes being conservative.

The Republican primary is playing out. It appears Romney is the delegate of the moment. Not my first choice, but, Romney gets my vote in November...period. 4 years of Romney is better than 1 more day of Obama. People like you and others better wise up to that fact.

If you look, I’ve been here many, many moons and I hate seeing this grand site being a campaign tool for Obama, and that is precisely what this place is becoming with all the Republican bashing. Let Obama win again and I seriously doubt Free Republic or any other strong conservative site will be allowed to operate. It will be shuttered because of Hate Speech or some other liberal freedom stripping ploy. I hope you enjoy your responsibility in all that.

Bullsh*t.

It's far more in danger of becoming a little coterie of political parrots and retrograde religious zealots. It used to be a place for fierce and open debate, exquisite flame wars, and brave commenters who didn't toe the line, but could defend their opinions with verve and citations.

Cherry pick? Romney does not have a conservative bone in his liberal body. You have heard the truth about who romney is and the lies he has told. So either your a liberal helping obama, because you know obama will beat him or you are mormon and “working” to get a mormon in the white house, so you can become a higher god, like romney is trying to do.

Romney is a liar, cheat, thief and a liberal. He claimed to have had a conversion and is now pro-life, against gay marriage......Then he said the opposite and signed legislation putting through pro-gay marriage..he's for cap and trade, increased taxes, romneycare...... He is NOT conservative or do you want the proof I'm sure you have seen several times. Romney is worse than obama. He's a Judas and in a cult. It's no wonder he thought it was ok to destroy good people to BUY the nomination, he thinks he is a god.

I will go third party or write in someone. Like I said before, romney is an arrogant man who never reached out to conservatives when it was he was told 4 time to do so. He said we would vote for him. That reason alone shows will not doing anything for conservatives. He needed to run as a democrat, that is who he is. I don't care who he has as VP, he's not getting my vote. No, this is not a vote for obama, I won't vote for either pro-abortion, pro-gay, cap & trade.....romneycare...I have a conscience.
