RICHARDSON (CBSDFW) – Former U.S. House Speaker Newt Gingrich says he’s not leaving the Presidential race anytime soon.  “I’m the tortoise in this race,” Gingrich says. “I’ll just keep coming forward and I’m still here.”

Before 75 supporters in a packed Richardson restaurant along Central Expressway Monday afternoon, Gingrich sounded upbeat.

He told the town hall meeting, “I certainly felt a lot more encouraged by donors than discouraged by the elite media.” But he’s facing an uphill climb.

We need Newt to gain Santorum’s endorsement and turn the GOP Convention upside down.

Nothing to be lost and everything to gain by simply staying around and not dropping out.

By the time we reach the convention, it’s going to be apparent that the voter base has such a schism that there’s no way to get Mitt through the primary. For every die hard supporter he has, he has an enemy. There’s not going to be any coming together “in the end.”

Not this time.

The convention can either broker someone else we can all support (And I’m not saying Newt will be it) but if they don’t, we can’t win. This party is shattered. Broken. And it’s not going to fix itself this time.

For every die hard supporter he has

Aside from Ann Coulter and Ann Romney, does Mittens actually have any "die hard supporters"?
Most of the "endorsements" I'm seeing are the, "Okay, (shrug) Romney, I guess," variety.

President Harry S. Truman once aluded that there wasn’t much difference between a piano player in a whore house and a politician.

Cain, Nugent, Boehner and the lot are pitchin’ for Mitt because of the relentless propaganda drumbeat that Romney is inevitable, all bought by Romney’s money.

Well, he isn’t inevitable.

The 11th Commandment of Ronald Reagan was to speak nothing negative about fellow Republicans. Romney has run his race exactly opposite of that, because he has NO positive conservative record in his past. He governed Massachusetts as a progressive, a socialist!

The states where he has won the majority of delegates have been almost uniformily Blue states, which he will not win in a national election come November.

So, if conservatives don’t get their butts in gear and change the tragectory of this nomination, we will have a choice between Romney the fascist and Obama the communist. That is not a choice. Both men believe government is God, which is evil.

Newt needs to stay in. No matter what the media does to him, he should keep on. He can stay on message (which is a good one), the best message actually so the conservative voice has some power at the convention. The party is about broken. Mitt will cause many to leave the party because of his gay marriage law he set in place, Romenycare ( which is disastrous)) and so much more. No matter what happens this fall, if he is the one for our side, I will not vote for him. I cannot in good conscience since I am against gay marriage, abortion and socialized health care. Sorry, I just cannot do. When I meet my maker, I want my soul not troubled with this. I do think many people on our side are falling for trickery. This new type of Romney republicanism will be what they always will want. You will never get a Reagan type in that party as the leader because they want moderates.

The idling political powerhouse up in Alaska wouldn’t hurt either.

Yes, Newt needs to stay in in order to recoop the money he has sunk into his campaign. He has until the convention to get himself whole. Newt also needs his supporters to still believe he has a chance, so they continue forking over the cash. Plus Callista is on a book tour for her new children’s book she wrote. The campaign is paying for it. The campaign has hired a guy to dress in an elephant suit for the appearances. Callista must also fly on private jets. No commercial for her.The Campaign is paying for this also. After you donate you get to be on his donors list, which Newt is currently selling as we speak. Pretty good deal, after you donate you get a free cruise from the Timeshare people. As PT Barnum once said.

Cain is supporting Team Romney that destroyed him?

If so, Cain is so stupid as to be henceforth
forever ignored.

I'm voting for Newt in the Texas primary. If Romney is the nominee, I'll put out my Cthulhu yard signs.

If little Ricky is the great conservative that he claims to be, he would throw his support to Newt. We will see.

Little Ricky, and you wonder why he doesn’t fall into line for you. Santorums people will divide about equally for Romney early on and then collapse into the RINO machine.

Those that continually ridiculed the Senator can then take the bow that they have earned.
