Allow me to give another example of how theological worldviews influence our social (& political) worldviews...from a distinctly Mormon perspective:
Mormons believe that Muslims were brothers & sisters to them in the "pre-existence."
So...before Mitt was born, he was stationed near Kolob after having his spirit born there...[no spirit-birth certificate, yet Mitt believes he really is an "alien" of sorts]
And he was supposedly surrounded by brothers & sisters who would become Muslims.
The New Testament worldview of those who would descend from Hagar...is reflected (as a contrast) by the apostle Paul in Galatians 4:21-31...(people can read that for themselves if interested).
It's a more realistic appraisal of the spiritual bondage that the Muslim world finds itself in. This worldview is more wary of Muslims; whereas, the Mormon worldview is more accepting of Islam.
Oh, and btw, watch the Dems & MSM have some "fun" with Romney's belief about the so-called "pre-existence."
One of them will eventually say: "Oh, so you 'birthers & other conservatives have 'issues' with Obama's Hawaii birth certificate; you think he's an alien citizen who moved here after birth. Yet Mitt Romney confesses that before he became a U.S. citizen, he was actually spirit born not only in another country, but another planet! So. That's 'OK' with you? That's not your hypocrisy showing? Why aren't you demanding that Mitt show his Kolobian spirit-birth certificate?"
So. Imagine that. Mitt Romney, our first potential 'Truly Alien' POTUS!
Oh, jeeze, talk about not telling the whole truth. Mormons believe that everyone was brothers and sisters to them in the pre-existence. Even you.
