Getting as far away from this staged lynching as she can.

If that were the case, she'll have stepped down 5 seconds after she was given it. But she didn't. I suspect she was hoping to find a way to stay on since her husband is a regular on CNN.

It's clear she wanted to get off.

It's not her husband. It's another guy in the same firm as her husband who plans on speaking regularly about the case on CNN.

The more appropriate way to avoid an appearance of impropriety is for the husband's colleague to refrain from speaking about the case on CNN. The judge after all was elected to her position and should be expected to fulfull her responsibilities.

The fact that the more appropriate solution of Nejame not going on CNN to bloviate about the case has not been raised makes it clear she just wanted to get away from this pile of crap.

I’m hardly naive but I’m still more than a bit alarmed at the conventional wisdom as acknowledged by those who should know better, including:

1) Zimmerman should be charged (make that overcharged) because some vocal people wish it so.

2) If he is not charged or if he is acquitted there will be riots.

3) Police and other officials who HAVE ADVANCED WARNING OF SUCH RIOTS will intentionally take no action to stop it - or worse, they will claim sympathy with the rioters (see also: London 2011).

4) The widespread belief that ‘justice’ and ‘revenge’ are synonymous.

How can there be a trial without a judge?
Interesting if no judge will take it.

Her honor's Not Guilty! (accompanied by her picture)

In this forum, it depends on what she's accused of.

They’re going after him for political reasons - it’s like we’re living in the old USSR.

Just look at the good side. We got out six-pack & the MBA. (sarc). I might get out my old copy of "The Gulag Archipelago" & dust it off.

Yes, she is very pretty, but I have a niece who is 16 and the judge looks like she could be one of my nieces friends.

I bet this judge gets carded everywhere she goes.

I hope she does very well.

I hope she doesn't get chewed up. Is the judgeship selected or does one apply for the position?

any adverse ruling re: prosecution will certainly result in riots

Let them riot.

Then shoot them down like rabid dogs and let their bodies rot in the streets.

Any culture in which riot is the first resort needs to be exterminated.

Any judge presiding over a court that finds Zimmerman innocent, will be the next person the Black Panthers put a bounty on, all with the tacit approval of Eric Holder. These judges know this.

She in fact reviewed the evidence and said there was enough evidence to warrant a 2nd degree murder charge. That was in the hearing.

Her husband’s law partner is a CNN contributor. Not her husband. But she is the one who cited a possible conflict of interest in the first hearing.

There is no chance that the appointed judge will accept the case. Do not forget the judge saw evidence we have not seen and ruled that the evidence does in fact exist to warrant the second degree murder charges.

Good for her! She did exactly what legal and judicial ethics require. A genuinely honorable judge.

It's clear she wanted to get off.

If her husband isn't willing, I doubt she would lack for volunteers to help her with that.
