CA Paycheck initiative gets $250,000 donation; union trumps it

-the initiative received -- $250,000 last month to support a ballot measure that would ban payroll deductions for raising money for political purposes, ... Two days after the California Faculty Association Political Issues Committee put $350,000 into opposing it. -The initiative will start- a political slugfest that could total $50 million or more in campaign spending by the time voters decide on the measure in November.

The chances of this passing are slim here in CA but every dollar the unions spend on this is one less they can use around the country. The unions regard this as life and death and will defeat it by "any means necessary." Last time around, Arnold sponsored similar measure. Also, check out the history of Prop 226 in June of 1998 and how all liberal 501(c)3 orgs, (even churches) pitched in to "trump" that measure. It started out way ahead with over 70% polling support!!!
