ELYRIA, Ohio (AP) — President Barack Obama said Wednesday that his Republican rivals are sincere, patriotic and absolutely wrong about how to reinvigorate the economy.

He said they "don't seem to remember how America was built."

At least one mulatto President has no clue how America was built and every waking minute works to destroy what others have made.

Go Ted

Mr. President, how America was built can be expressed in what Captain John Smith said to the aristocrats at Jamestown: “if you will not work, you shall not eat.”

This idea is the opposite of everything you believe in.

What is this “America” of which Obama speaks?

I suppose Argentina is an “American” country, after all, it is in SOUTH America. Once a prosperous nation, rivaling the United States in per-capital productivity and with perhaps a higher standard of living at the time, that tormented land fell prey to “progressive” social policies, which managed to crush a lot of the enterprising spirit that once made Argentina among the more advanced capitalist societies of the world, leaping far beyond the strictures that bound most of Europe and even most of the rest of South America. Years of the application of “social justice”, and repeated raids on the national treasury that bankrupted the government over and over (the Peron years were but a part of that pernicious thinking), Argentina has never recovered its past, and even today, struggles along as a poor relation to its neighbors, shambling along its dusty country paths and shabby cities. A permanent underclass, lacking all vision and ambition, has come to dominate every institution of that country, and mediocrity prevails in every corner of the land.

Obama is right. Republicans, for the most part, do not share his outlook.

Good thing, too. Who knows how far and fast this country could plunge, if from time to time, the collective vision is not lifted to the horizons?

America was built on the concept of the natural rights of man, the sovereignty of the individual, and a government of limited and enumerated powers.

Our Constitutional system, according to 0bama is only a charter of “negative liberties”. He prefers the anti-American concept of a government of “positive liberties”, one that has the power and mission to provide things for people. A government that has the power to give you all you want also has the power to take from you all you have. That is NOT the concept that “built America” but the one America was founded in opposition to.

Hmmm...as I recall, America was built by people who wanted a new life in the New World, and came over and worked to make thriving communities. Education? That started in the home. When a community got large enough, the local people would raise a school and bring in a teacher. Politics was a part-time job, because the politicians still had to eat, and they couldn't hold a gun to their neighbors for food. (Not successfully, that is.)

Infrastructure? That was decided upon by local people. Not by the King when America consisted of a bunch of English and Spanish colonies; not by the Congress or President when we struck out on our own.

Paying "welfare" was a personal option, usually administered by the religious organizations; today, we pay welfare at the point of a gun to people selected by others, and not by us, to receive the largess. Think of it as building an infrastructure of grabbers.

Freeloaders who learn to "game" the system are the new element in the evolution of this nation. And, unfortunately, the numbers of the freeloaders continues to grow -- soon they will outnumber the producers in this country.

If we want to go back to our roots, we have to go back to everyone working and producing, and not just 42 percent of us that provide a positive cash flow to the USA.

He said they "don't seem to remember how America was built."

Quite true... all too many of them have followed right along with the Democrats in revising American history.

He knows Romney will handle any outrageous thing he says the exact same way the McCain did. That is to say, he knows Romney won't say a word against him, won't object to his hurtful and untrue pronouncements, won't defend America against his lies. Won't fight back period.

The most we can expect from Romney is "I've had it rough too" and "Obama's second term will be great for America, no one has anything to fear."

Romney == McCain II.

Come on now, folks.

Don’t you get it? He was referring to slavery, and playing the race card... AGAIN.

The left, and especially the black left, totally believe that the prosperity of America lies in the slave labor of the past, and that’s why they are entitled to freebies today.

Interesting. Yahoo has a liberal bias, and I would assume Yahoo’s readership does too.

You are right on both accounts (in my opinion).

The opinions of Obama on Yahoo have been scathing now for that last year. I noticed the tide turning some time ago. It gives me hope for change.

See America Grounded On Experience & Reason. Obama is, in fact, the absolute antithesis to the principles on which America was built.

But, please note, the current Leftist gambit--not only in this effort by Obama, but in the recent editorial in the New York Times, which suggested that the Conservative Supreme Court Justices--those who try to apply the Constitution as written--as all are sworn to do--are now the "Judicial Activists," driven by a political agenda!! It is the American application of the "Big Lie," that Leftist demagogues employed in Europe in the 20th Century takeovers.

We will fail to note the deliberate & repeated use of this tactic, to our peril.

“He said: ‘they don’t seem to remember how America was built.’”

Actually, Odumbo is hoping no one remembers how this country was built. He is relying on years of govt schools teaching our kids nothing about our Founders, the Constitution or The Bill of Rights.

His apology tours are a good example. Wow, there must be something wrong about the USA..Obama is apologizing...

Ignorance is a dangerous thing, it can get you killed or even worse...look at North Korea.

Obama is a disgrace. He is so radical, he has become a caricature of himself.

Very dangerous....

Yeah. Slaves owned by loyal members of the Democrat Party.

I'm glad to learn this. I believe the assertion that most Americans are “center-right” is accurate and that Yahoo gets a representative sample. So, if the comments on yahoo are strongly anti-Obama on this...very nice!

Obama: Some in GOP forget how America was built
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Acording to Black Liberation theology, America was built on the backs of black slaves, (.... er not to mention the hundreds of thousands of indentured Scots and Irish who were not much better off than the slaves were, in their vast majority, THEY DON”T COUNT).

Now you see Obama escalating the meme that will have race riots in every major American City as we get closer to the election.

Its time for de revolution you see.

Yep, we now see the fascism of Obama seeping through as he browbeats America with his own interpretation of History so he can bring about the United States of Utopia Zimbabwe.

Obama will be the cause of thousands of deaths of Americans. He is just getting warmed up.

Good Read:
