40-state sweep

Two years ago today, I predicted a 51-seat gain in the House of Representatives for the Republican Party. At the time, experts gave Democrats better than even odds of maintaining the House. Given that they had a 76-seat advantage — Republicans would need to flip 39 seats to take the House — that seemed reasonable. To be sure, most voters wanted the newly enacted Obamacare repealed, but experts said voters would get over that by November, when the economy picked up.

BS. Obama has at least 240 EVs guaranteed to him on a silver platter before the first popular votes are counted. Romney has roughly 170.

The days of GOPers blowing out Dem opponents are long gone. The browning demographics and the massive numbers in the dependency class have wiped all the traditional advantages away.

The most comical piece in the story is the idea Romney could put New England in play. Oh, please.

I agree with Ted Nugent.......It is so important that Zero is defeated, that if the R Candidate turns out to be Romney, we all do everything in our power to get him elected and bring this four year nightmare to an end!

I wanted Sarah Palin.....then one-by-one, several others, and none of them were Romney. But if it turns out to BE Romney, I’ll be @#%&! if I;m going to sit home and pout and suck my thumb because I didn’t get my way! Neither YOU, nor I, nor our formerly Blessed Country can withstand 4 more years of Marxism and unelected Czars!

This article s nothing but insular, self-congratulatory drivel.

The author assumes that everybody hates Obama as much as we do. They don’t. There is a large chunk of the American electorate who can’t wait to vote for him again because they think they’ll finally get some o’ dat pie this time around.

Thinking that Blue states are going to vote for Romney in the *general* just because liberal Republicans (who generally make up small minorities of the total voter pool) in these states went for Romney in the *primary* is the height of foolishness.

Obama’s campaign will be so hypocritical that they will have no problem simultaneously defending ObamaCare while hanging Romneycare around Willard’s neck like a boat anchor. At the very best, we can expect that Romney will be neutralised on this issue by his own continued support of Romneycare.

Romney will depress conservative voter turnout like nobody’s business. You think 2008 with McCain was bad? Wait until Romney kills the downticket turnout and loses us the House as well as losing to Obama.

Thanks GOP-E. You’ve done your job well.

Romney can be pushed to the right--Rush Limbaugh and Daniel Henninger of the Wall Street Journal have been saying that for a while.

This is false. If the primaries didn't push him to the right, then the general certainly isn't going to, and neither is having a pliable Congress.

Yes, there’s a difference in scope.

So what happens if we take the guy who coerced abortions in the small scope he had, and put him in charge of regulating the entire federal government?

Something that most people don’t realize is that the role of precedents in our judicial system makes us perfectly vulnerable to the Islamists’ methods for taking over a country. You get a precedent set in a local area, and then you use that precedent to push into more and more territory.

Sharia is the goal of Islamists, and it’s where government forces obedience to Muslim dictates and punishes/penalizes non-Muslims. The ideal way for anybody to take over a system is to create a shell/template and then just “tweak” it and eventually give it the real name of what it is. That’s what The New Party (with Obama as a signed member) was supposed to do to the democratic party in Chicago. Use the name and shell of the democratic party but repopulate it with communists. Same thing that Saddam Hussein did with CNN and Soros has done with Fox: use the name and credibility of CNN/Fox but just repopulate it with propaganda pieces. Take over the brand while keeping the brand name.

Well.... by claiming that states don’t have to honor religious liberty, Romney is providing the platform for the Islamists to do their localized precedents. And by getting the government to require Christians (non-Muslims) to violate their own religious beliefs, Romney is also providing the SHELL for the Islamists to take over. Government is already establishing the religion of anti-Christianity; it’s just a small step from there for the government to establish a pro-Muslim religion.

Obamacare goes farther in that direction. It exempts Muslims but not Christians - thus creating a “dhimmi tax” for non-Muslims while giving official government preference to Islam. Exactly what we would expect from a guy who told the Egyptian ambassador that he was and still is a Muslim who supports the Muslim agenda. (The agenda all sects of Islam agree upon is the destruction of the US and Israel and the institution of worldwide sharia).

I don’t believe that Romney is a Muslim, but without even realizing it, he is playing right into the hand of the Islamists. That may be why George Soros has said there’s no difference between Romney and Obama. Either one will further the goals of the communist-Islamist alliance that is headed by George Soros. Romney, like Hillary, supports many of the goals from the communist (”progressive”) side of that alliance, without realizing that in the end it will also serve the Islamist purpose. Both entities want the government to be “god”.

Being that this thread has the possibility of mentioning Mitt Romney, I must hereby preface my comments with the following obligatory anti-Romney rant in order that my actual comments are not misconstrued to be in support of Mitt Romney in any way whatsoever:
Boo! Hiss! Boo! Hiss! (Stamping feet on ground) Bad on Mitt Romney for pulling ahead of Obama in the polls and for possibly winning 40 states this November. Shame on the Republicans who voted for Mitt Romney in the primaries and put him in place to win the nomination (Making gagging sound and clawing at my chest) Boo! Hiss! Mitt Romney ties his dog to the top of his car and has a funny haircut! Boo! Hiss!

OK, now that I have that act of self-flagellation out of the way, let me state that the GOP could exhume Richard Nixon and put him on the ticket this year and still lick the socialist American-hating Obama.

But the focus this November needs to be down-ticket. We have a chance to replicate the same success we had in the 2010 mid-terms and take back the senate to boot. If we do that, it won't really matter who the president is. If it's Romney, we will force him to the right. If it's somehow Obama, our congressional majorities will stop his agenda dead in its tracks. So go ahead and vote third party this year for president, write in Sarah Palin or just leave the damn thing blank. Just make sure you vote conservative all the rest of the way down the ballot.

“Romney will keep the Republican vote down”
Voter fraud is a huge problem in many States.
In Connecticut we saw it in Bridgeport and the CT Democrats Legislatures are going along with Atty. General Eric Holder statement, that there is no problem with voter fraud, want to have no ID! for voting!
Oh are we ever screwed... if we don’t have Conservative Monitors in every polling place.

I am an attorney in NYC and have done election fraud investigation and monitoring every year since 2000.

I will do so again this year. Obama has to go! those who want a second term of this communist can bite me. If I am banned for that so. Be it. I hate Obama and everything he stands for. If some can’t grasp the mortal danger a second term of this ghetto tyrant represents , then what else can one say?

I called the RNC and told them I was an attorney who wanted to get involved.

In 2000 I was in NYC and was almost assaulted by union thugs in the Bronx.

in 2004 I spent a week in Jax Florida.

In 2008 I spent a week in pittsburgh PA for McCain.

Only reason I volunteered in 2008 was due to palin. 2004 was ablest and GWB ran a great campaign. although I am a NY Guido , I loved Jax Florida. Great people!!!

Once I saw who had made the counter-points, there was no need to read them.

I am, however, idly wondering if you will keep flailing away for the next 8 1/2 years?

I do believe that Obama is a Muslim, and fully realizing it, he is deliberately playing right into the hands of the Islamists.

Romney as the candidate will not keep this conservative from voting for him. I swore for years here on fr that I would nevernevernever vote for McCain. I voted for McCain. I know now that I can’t have the candidate I want but I can get rid of the more dangerous one. It’s silly to say that Romney is equivalent to Obama. I know a lot of people here who voted for him in 08!! So, speak for yourself. We never had a candidate that could beat Romney, sad to say. Palin / Rubio / Ryan didn’t run.

The only thing keeping Gingrich from beating Romney is people who have given up.

If we can keep Romney from getting half of the remaining votes we can keep Romney from becoming the GOP candidate. That’s not an impossible task. We can do this if we have the will.

Those of us who despise Congress for not having the will to resist Obama’s agenda need to do some serious soul-searching if we lack the will to get a conservative on the ballot.

Don't like the GOPs chances this year at all. Romney was the worst possible candidate we could have run.

If there is a 40 state blowout, it will be in the Kenyan's favor, not Romney's.
