I’ll second that. I’d like to know what is standard police doctrine regarding a dog in or on the premises of a private residence to which a police officer has been summoned or dispatched. It appears, rightly or wrongly, that “first take down the dog” is SOP.
I suspect it is the “take out the dog first” training that the LEOs get when they put on their ninja uniforms and play Jack Boot.
I am all for the same laws applying to cops shooting citizens dogs as it is for citizens shooting Cop’s dogs.
