I second that my friend.
I had ancestors in the Revolution too. Their hardships were much worse than ours. The Republic is slipping away and we have to stand firm.

I never said such a thing. You did your own incorrect math and made your own incorrect assumptions. I linked you to the
information. Read it on your own. Thanks very much.

Yes, we must stand firm, even if we're the smallest number. Our forefathers (and mothers) in the Revolution were outnumbered by pathetic Loyalists and traitors, but they won the day because they stood firm in their convictions and principles.
We must not dishonor them by doing any less.

So you never said this...where is my math wrong?
/i/ To: NittanyLion; DJ MacWoW; Jim Robinson
*shrug* Think whatever you want, but it isn’t the economy that’s extending what used to be a 10 day process to ~80 days. There’s a much more fundamental issue than that, and it’s the one I’ve described.
Our longest FReepathon is 55 days, thankyouverymuch, and as a matter of fact, in the old days, our financial goals were $40K, then $60K and now we’re at $94K which includes the cost of new servers to handle our heavy traffic!
FWIW, we have almost $40K in Monthly donations, so you have NO idea what you’re spewing!

QUARTERLY when the Monthlies are rolled during our FReepathons.
Take a look for yourself at the link. The Monthlies are currently in excess of $11,000 a month without counting the New Monthly Donors, of which we now have 35 or thereabout.
In those days, when our FReepathon goals were $40K & $60K, our Monthly Donors now would almost cover those FReepathons and that was my point.

Our monthlies vary between 11-12k + per month, or as much as 36k per quarter or more. It may be that someone misspoke or rounded that up in a conversation to 40, but that would be 40 per quarter not 40 per month.
Thank you all very much!!
FReepers are the greatest!!

Each FReepathon is for the current Quarter’s expenses.
Monthly donations: $11,609.50 X 3 months will be rolled into this Quarter’s FReepathon,
giving this Quarter’s FReepathon for current expenses (April, May, June) credit for those donations of almost $35K.

Thanks very much. That would be me. We were talking FReepathons of the past and I just figured everyone knew that we were speaking QUARTERLY, and that $40K was approximate and ideal, given that our FReepathons of the old days were for $40K and incrementally to $60K etc.
Were we still at those goals, our FReepathons would be over in a matter of hours, not days and that was my point.
You're right. FReepers are the absolute best. FReepers always support Free Republic.

I guess I was focusing on the commercial business model that would effectively transfer editorial administration to an outside party...
That is why I drew the analogy to the former Constitution. We have seen how easily it was corrupted over a period of 108 years to the point that it is now brazenly ignored by our ruling elite. That includes multiple Congresses, courts, and administrations.
Neither party's candidate for 2012 gives a damn about restoring the Republic and adherence to the Constitution...even in its current bastardized form . The clueless GOP candidate could be the subject of one of Don Henley's songs. Something like: "All he wants to do is dance, dance, dance...."
Hmmm...Seems I got off subject here...
