Ok, I don't get it. I don't think this scumbag was actually a violent criminal. From reading the story, it looks like he was just looking for an empty house to rob. This homeowner did not answer the doorbell, so Carter did a little B&E. Carter had already been casing places and ringing doorbells at a few other houses before settling on one that supposedly had no occupant.

Anyway, this homeowner was well within his rights to do what he did, but it was rather excessive given hindsight. Now, to my point, why the heck would something like this be ok, while George Zimmerman gets charged with 2nd degree murder for killing a guy that was beating his head into the pavement?

I did contact her and said she should complain to whoever wrote the headline. The article was actually well written. She replied and thanked me!
