Abnak Records was founded in Dallas by insurance mogul John Abdnor as a vanity project for his son John Jr., who had pretensions to musical talent. Abnak had one moneymaking group, the Five Americans, who had two hits in the mid-Sixties, “I See the Light” and “Western Union”. John Jr. was the “Jon” in Jon and Robin, who had the only other hit Abnak ever produced. This little ditty was the second success for
