Oh yeah, Phil...sure thing.
You may want to check my history. I abhor Mittens and have had the fortitude to share that way more than many Freepers on this site.
I was and still am a Santorum supporter...and originally was pro Newt until it became apparent that there was NO WAY he was or is going to be the nominee.
It is entirely silly to just continue to tout one candidate or another on FR anyway. POTUS is only ONE branch of our government, we have little or no control over who is going to be the nominee right now..and we can still work to help elect local, state and federal CONSERVATIVES to office in future to at least keep some semblance of a checks and balances system in place.
Your assessment is childish and most significantly, WRONG, about me. But if you’re one of the Newties, it’s typical.
Oh, and you guys may want to douse the immature GO NEWT!s or else don those knee pads yourselves.
It’s not too late. The GOP-e desperately wants you to believe that. Romney desperately wants you to believe that also - which is why he has bought off the “pro-life” groups to endorse him against Obama before he’s even running against Obama. They are trying to demoralize us.
But remember this: they have to try so hard to demoralize us because they know we can still derail Romney’s nomination.
IOW, they know it’s not too late, which is why they are trying to convince us to think it is.
I was for either Santorum or Gingrich; made no difference to me which got it. At one point I suggested that they ask the Lord to decide which should be the P and which the VP on the ticket and then draw straws to hear His answer.
At this point Santorum is keeping his delegates bound to him. Thank God! That will help keep Romney from getting the nomination in the first round of voting. That is the same tactic that Newt is after, and it can be effective. I was so afraid that Santorum was going to betray conservatism. He didn’t! He’s holding on for conservatism and for the people who voted for him because he represented conservatism! Thank you, thank you, Lord! And thank you, Santorum! That took courage and wisdom, and courage and wisdom were provided just when they were needed.
We’re still on course for what needs to be done.
The enemy we face is demoralization - either by those in the GOP-e and media who push for Romney, or by those who have given in to their demoralization efforts.
There’s a song I really love, by Casting Crowns, called “The Voice of Truth”, and it really, really applies right now - because the things we stand for are truth, freedom, and life, which are near and dear to the Lord’s heart:
Oh, what I would do to have
The kind of faith it takes to stand before a giant
With just a sling and a stone,
Surrounded by the sound of a thousand warriors
Shaking in their armor,
wishing they’d have had the strength to stand.
But the giant’s calling out my name and he laughs at me,
Reminding me of all the times I’ve tried before and failed.
The giant keeps on telling me, time and time again,
“Boy, you’ll never win. You’ll never win!”
But the voice of Truth tells me a different story.
The voice of Truth says, “Do not be afraid”.
The voice of Truth says, “This is for My glory.”
Out of all the voices calling out to me,
I will choose to listen and believe the voice of Truth.
Santorum had to drop out.
The reason is called Pennsylvania.
But no matter the reason, it happened.
Newt is all that’s left.
Win or lose, he’s one heckuva mensch.
You no like.
Who does that leave?
Romney, or Ron Paul.
I still choose Newt.
And as CW reminded, he won TWO states and placed second in three, but the bottom line is he’s still there.
But there is proof of what you say in my home state of WI..
WI has mountains?
I was and still am a Santorum supporter...
Really?! Why did you say this then?
Santorum is scary.
I abhor Mittens...
You're "loyal opposition" and play "devil's advocate" in my book.
You smash mouth anybody and everybody who supports Newt.
That's all I need to know.
You've been pegged.
