I wonder about it also. I mean it would make great sense to build a moon base. We have the tech and ability to do it. Think about having a mining complex, science complex, and a deep space Hubble type observatory. It makes more sense to build than having an orbiting space station.... Easier to build and much much safer.Think of the possibilities, but our country doesn't want to.
I have heard astronauts and NASA scientist say the same thing.... The Aliens said, stay away...
