Montana's Governor Schweitzer(D): "Romney’s father from ‘polygamy commune’ in Mexico"
Helena Independent Record ^ | 4.21.12 | Mike Dennison

.Gov. Brian Schweitzer, talking Friday to a national news website, said Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney might shy from talking about his family’s Mexican roots because they came from a “polygamy commune” in Mexico.

Schweitzer made the remark in an interview with The Daily Beast, a news and opinion website, after being asked whether Montana might be a swing state during this year’s 2012 election.

According to The Daily Beast, Schweitzer said Montana likely would vote for Romney, but that Romney, a Mormon, might have trouble nationally because his father, George Romney, was “born on a polygamy commune in Mexico.”

Schweitzer, a Democrat, said later that he wasn’t misquoted, and that his comments had nothing to do with Romney’s faith or his church, which does not condone polygamy.

Schweitzer said he was describing the dilemma facing Romney, who is in trouble with Hispanic voters because “he took an ultra-right-wing position on immigration during the (Republican) primary.”

Why should it be a problem? Obama's father was a polygamous tribesman from Kenya.

Mormonism is the least of Romney’s problems.

Two ineligible propolygamists who support ObamaCARE/RomneyCARE, TARP and Sharia.

WHAT COULD POSSIBLY GO WRONG?

Neither Romney’s dad nor his grandfather were polygamists.

And even if they were, so what? Grandpa isn’t on the ballot

George Romney, was “born on a polygamy commune in Mexico.”

So what if he was born in Mexico? He didn't really have a choice in where he was born, but at least we do know where he was born, as well as where his son was born. Still not voting for his son, but it really has nothing to do with whether his great grandfathers were polygamists or not.

Maybe, maybe not.

But really... how many of these would anyone want around anyway?

Amazing on the timing Gov Schweitzer, you could have saved the Republicans from nominating Romney if you had any good intent with your information about Romney family’s Mexican roots...

It’s not that progressives are against polygamy, it’s that they’re against sex with multiple, unattractive women...oh wait, that’s not right either...

Mormonism is the least of Romney’s problems.

Disgree with that. His Mormonism is at the heart of who he is. We don't know...and I wonder if even he knows.

Who is this strange man? (And why is the GOP so oblivious as to back such a person?)

He has made hundreds of millions of dollars for himself...but he still giggles like a school-girl.

He is better than Obama...but who is he? In fact...what is he?

Smear the POS governor as a bigot and a racist.

Run the SOB out of office in a recall petition. Make the bigot afraid to show his face.

Bullsh!t on that.

They were chased out of the U.S. and settled in Mexico...and the rumor is they were chased out of there as well.

And yes...this was because of the polygamous ways!

Obama’s father was an anti-American Marxist.

And a polygamous tribesman from Kenya.

Your point then,... Schweitzer(D)?

I don’t care what his ancestors did. I care what Mitt does and believes.

Actually my understanding is, they were not polygamists.

They were in a committed monogamous heterosexual relationship. In the community in Mexico, who had fled from persecution.

One man, and one woman. Together.

Yes, seems weird, I know.
