If they’re that nasty, the cops should stock up on fire hoses, capsicum paint balls, sound cannons, and that new-fangled “pain ray” and turn it all loose on the rioters just to see which works best.
If none of ‘em work particularly well, go for live ammo...
***descended on the city, prompting police to use tear gas and rubber bullets. The clash became known as The Battle of Seattle. ***
You could stop this rioting by simply replacing the rubber bullets with hardball and shoot to kill.
At first read I thought they were going to abandon Larry Holmes. Whooo, thankfully, not true.
They moved the G-8 Conference to Camp David.
But then, the participants wouldn't be able to partake of the fine dining and fleshpots of the host city they're enjoying themselves in.
These elitists of the word couldn't care less how much it costs the strapped local taxpayers to provide protection for their sorry backsides....whether it's a NATO Summit, an Economic Summit or a Beer Summit.

Me too.
My mind's in a blender...it's JELLO....

And the good news is ... it’s Chicago, the Food Stamp President’s home town ... it’s just so appropriate. The residents of Chicago (known as sheeple) are used to minor inconveniences such as this, whether caused by mobs, the mob or the government mob.
Thats right,thanks.
I liked the guy in the article. He accepts it as part of living in a big city, like how he’s inconvenienced during
the Thanksgiving day parade.
There have been Blawkhawk choppers flying around the Loop practicing security runs. Barricades around buildings already being erected. Should be interesting. I’m not in that building, but in the “ground zero” area. I’ll be staying.
What was NATO thinking, Chicago?? I hope they have a battle plan and a sane ROE.
Well, could we get the WTO to meet more frequently and in places we would like seeto take a hit?
Let's see...Dearborn MI, Hollywood, NYC, San Fransicko etc.
In the event of a riot or the potential of one near the building...”
Count on Chicago police to fail to uphold the law and protect lives and property of the people they work for.
Line up the snow plows and clean the streets like it was Winter.
The conference is at Camp David. The riot is in Chicago. Since this is street theater to begin with, I wouldn’t be surprised if Rahm dazzled us with a strong law and order response, bolstered by a staged 0 administration response, “proving” they can keep us safe. Watch his polls soar.
The arrested rioters will exit through the rear turnstile, collecting their pay for an acting job well done. On to the next rent-a-mob occupation.
It will also be more time when we are not discussing 0’s failures.
Why the hell doesn’t NATO provide security? That is their mission, right?
Stay safe.
No disagreement there. If people want to peacefully protest, I have no problem. But once they start acting violently and destroying property or endangering lives, overwhelming force is totally called for.
If people die... too damn bad. They should not have been part of that mob.
The police should never be put in the position where they have to watch crimes being committed and not respond appropriately.
Correct. They guys I know who worked downtown just worked from home on their PCs for a couple of days. But the bars and restaurants and other service industries took a hell of a hit over that nonsense. Their business dropped like a rock because all their regular customers stayed home and few if any of the attendees of media followers showed up. They all got free food and drinks in the hotels.
The only place outside of the hotels I heard of that made some cash from it was a nuddie bar about 2 blocks from the convention center. I heard they were full from noon until closing time.
How about lake Michigan?
