How is it that time and time again we come up with such lame candidates for such an important office?

By design.

There is more 'design' that goes on behind the scenes than most of us care to believe. Romney has spend years running for the nomination. The major political parties are well oiled machines. They care more about their positions in Washington than about the state of the Nation or its citizens.

[That is why I wondered in 2008 how Obama suddenly appeared on the scene, had major backing, and managed to dislodge Mrs. Inevitable from the Dem nomination.]

As long as we have guns, and private propety they, and roughly 3/5 of our freedoms they have to at least pretend to give two craps what the American people think or want.
If we keep going where we are going and history is our guide to things to come.
Someone within this decade will step forward with a radical “solution”.

“The major political parties are well oiled machines. They care more about their positions in Washington than about the state of the Nation or its citizens.”

By now anyone who doesn’t realize this is beyond hope, imo.

Fortunately the twenty-somethings are in a position to supply the horsepower necessary to flip the GOPe the finger and make a third party work. The Constitution Party perhaps.

Thank God the younger folks want to be free. The older crowd (who should have a better survival instinct) have, as Gerald Celente puts it, either been bought out, sold out, or are down and out, and just don’t have the fight in them at all.
