I’m 59 this year. Think I’ll take mine and put it under the mattress.

But will you be 59 1/2 this year? That's how old you must be to withdraw without paying the 10% penalty.

If you are not 59 1/2 before the "Bush tax cuts" expire on Dec. 31, 2012, you will pay more in taxes in 2013 on your withdrawal.
