Could Newt pull off a Delaware upset?
The Politico ^ | April 23, 2012 | Ginger Gibson

Newt Gingrich has got a new hope: the tiny but dangerous state of Delaware.

With Mitt Romney and the national press corps now focused on the general election, Gingrich is hoping to become the Christine O’Donnell of the 2012 race — rallying the state’s conservatives to pull off an upset victory over the more moderate candidate who never saw it coming.

While Romney has ignored it, Gingrich has spent most of his time recently in Delaware, a state with only 17 delegates that will be awarded on a winner-take-all basis in Tuesday night’s primary races, which also include Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Rhode Island and New York.

Sure, a win by the former House speaker — who has laid off most of his staff and is millions of dollars in debt — in Delaware is still a longshot.

But even some Romney backers are becoming increasingly concerned that Gingrich could catch them flatfooted and pull out a surprise victory in the state.

It is not a done deal yet, but there is lots of praying time, and phone-calling time between tonight and when the polls close tomorrow.

I am fasting, and spending what time I can on my knees. Tomorrow is a good day for phone calls, because lots of people, who weren't planning to vote, can be convinced at the last minute to go to their polls. There is usually something in the air on election day. Freepers are very passionate and persuasive... you CAN make a difference!

If he can do this OR North Caroline, we can take a deep breath, maybe even a second wind...

Please help in anyway you can:

And for the fence sitters... A month ago, Newt was 19 points behind Obama in Rasmussen tracking, today he is 7. The new tracking polls come out at 1:30 on Tuesdays.

Obama with the dem-media complex, millions of dollars, sycophants everywhere in the media, versus Mitt Romney with the entire conservative media capitulated behind him, his millions, and NEWTON LEROY GINGRICH is only 7 points behind Obama in the lastest Rasmussen tracking?

General gingrich polling

THEY WANT YOU TO THINK IT'S HOPELESS...

Delaware is so blue... a smurf would go unnoticed..

That is true north of the C&D Canal - it then starts going purple and once you get to southern Kent and into Sussex, you're talking red (with a few blue pockets) Alas, the population base is above the Canal. There is a chance I'll be in Delaware tomorrow - but the registered Republicans I know are all GOP-e types. My conservative friends are either registered Libertarians, "declines," or democrats.

What you said about DE is so true.

But Newt is getting at least three votes here in Georgetown from me and my friends, one of which would not even consider it a week ago.

Good to hear!!!!

Newt didn’t make the Virginia ballot - so I voted for Paul..........What can I say - I would not vote for Romney in the primary.

If Republicans in Delaware, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, New York, and Rhode Island go out and vote for Newt including those who were committed to Santorum he’s got a chance.
