MetroWeekly.com is exposing the whole truth that Washington Post would not reveal:

Mitt Romney’s campaign tonight announced that it has hired Richard Grenell, an out gay former George W. Bush administration official, to serve as the presumptive Republican presidential nominee’s “national security and foreign policy spokesman,” according to a report from The Washington Post that did not mention Grenell’s sexual orientation.

Grenell served through September 2008 in the Bush administration as a spokesman to the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations — and told The Advocate‘s Kerry Eleveld as he left the administration that it was his hope that New York would have marriage equality soon and that he would one day be able to marry his partner, Matt Lashey. The couple has been together 10 years. . . .

Andrew Sullivan, who had endorsed Obama’s 2008 run, wrote of the news, “For Romney to have an openly gay spokesman is a real outreach to gay Republicans, a subtle signal to moderates, and the Santorum faction’s reaction will be worth noting.”

Grenell is not just gay, but a gay activist who pushes for same-sex marriages.

At the end of Grenell’s service in the Bush administration, he took a notable whack at the administration, telling The Advocate‘s Kerry Eleveld of his effort to have his partner, Matt Lashey, listed in the United Nations’ Blue Book, which is “a reference guide of contact information for different member states of the United Nations as well as diplomatic personnel and their spouses.”

Grenell had attempted to have Lashey’s name added several times, to no avail. He told The Advocate back in 2008, “What put me over the edge was a friend and colleague who met her spouse after I was already with my partner — they got married and subsequently were put into the Blue Book in a matter of days.”

The State Department eventually told him that the Defense of Marriage Act prevented the listing. Although he protested the decision behind the scenes, Lashey’s name was not ever added, which led to his coming forward to criticize the treatement publicly as he left his post.

HuffPost has noted that since the choice, Grenell has scrubbed his Twitter account and website of offensive material...

Here’s the problem, and you personally figured it out today.

The anyone but Obama people will vote mitt, no matter what. This means there is NOTHING mitt can do, however bad, to lose the vote of these people.

I say there is.

If you ask these people, what is the one thing mitt could do that would make you not vote for him, these people would say “nothing” because their logic is ABO. This is zero tolerance thinking being passed off as a political philosophy.

and the troubling thing is....since Mitt has figured this out, what do his instincts tell him?

Well..he announced this even before his VP announcement?

It’s like flipping the bird to all the people he has been courting for the past year.

Etch-a-sketch is right!

I hope not; but I can be forceful in presenting what I know to be true.

Taken in that context should Jesus never have spent time with prostitutes?

GOOD character gets corrupted: not GOD character...

SS guys should have said they were telling the ladies, "Go and sin no more."

I am getting enough preaching.

One can NEVER get enough preaching.

What you are getting is REBUKED, and NOBODY likes that; but it is definitely a scriptural thing to do at times.

I have never heard the multiple “Gods” version of Mormonism and that sounds like some splinter group.

Nope; it's right there in 'mainstream' MORMONism's 'scripture: D&C 132.

Here; hear a favorite hymn of the 'church'...

(click)
Praise to the Man!

Praise to the man who communed with Jehovah!
Jesus annointed that Prophet and Seer.
Blessed to open the last dispensation,
Kings shall extol him, and nations revere.

Chorus
Hail to the Prophet, ascended to heaven!
Traitors and tyrants now fight him in vain.
Mingling with Gods, he can plan for his brethren;
Death cannot conquer the hero again.

Praise to his mem'ry, he died as a martyr;
Honored and blest be his ever great name!
Long shall his blood, which was shed by assasins,
Plead unto heav'n while the earth lauds his fame.

Chorus
Hail to the Prophet, ascended to heaven!
Traitors and tyrants now fight him in vain.
Mingling with Gods, he can plan for his brethren;
Death cannot conquer the hero again.

Great is his glory and endless his priesthood.
Ever and ever the keys he will hold.
Faithful and true he will enter his kingdom,
Crowned in the midst of the prophets of old.

Chorus
Hail to the Prophet, ascended to heaven!
Traitors and tyrants now fight him in vain.
Mingling with Gods, he can plan for his brethren;
Death cannot conquer the hero again.

Sacrifice brings forth the blessings of heaven;
Earth must atone for the blood of that man.
Wake up the world for the conflict of justice.
Millions shall know 'Brother Joseph' again.

Chorus
Hail to the Prophet, ascended to heaven!
Traitors and tyrants now fight him in vain.
Mingling with Gods, he can plan for his brethren;
Death cannot conquer the hero again.

I will let any Mormon Freepers defend their faith.

Good luck with THAT!

They spew and fizz because we ANTIs (as we are lovingly called) actually have the audacity to post things that come directly from MORMONism's publishing house.

BINGO!

When liberals say “Tolerance”, it is just them telling us we have to compromise because they aren’t going to change.

Have you noticed that Romney is not even pretending to be trying to win conservatives to his side. He is mainly going after the same people who voted for Obama in 2008. IOW if he is elected President, it is liberals and other idiots who will be the ones whose vote puts him over the top.

I think he's chasing after the same people who voted for him in Assachusetts at this point, and you're right, if he wins, he will be in debt to the liberals and RINOs and he will repay that debt, just as he did in Massachusetts.

Seriously? Why should I waste my time explaining fundamental concepts of conservatism with you? It looks to me like you may be rather busy soon with viking kitties.

Glad you're back to your old self. I didn't recongnize you a few weeks ago when you dissed the yes men...

What I found interesting is the dozens of FReepers (many oldtimers too) that were zotted in January over a period of 3-4 weeks. Why? They verbalized a negative thought against Newt. I went back to the infamous bugzapper thread of ‘06. Found it interesting that more FReepers rode the lightning over Newt now than ever did back when Rudy was running. And how strange that was! To have 5-10 years (or more) of FReeping go down the tubes over Newt? Around here you either learn to be that yes man, or keep your opinions to yourself. 330 posted on Fri Apr 13 2012 16:58:49 GMT-0400 (Eastern Daylight Time) by Responsibility2nd

...getting banned right now would be a relief from the hate being directed right now.

I don't think you'll get banned. What you are espousing here are libertarian values. See my tagline for what I think of libs. But in any event - JR does not ban libs here at FR. Unless they go too far in their personal beliefs supporting the gay agenda.

I called it yesterday. JR is a tolerant man. He will accept liberal FReepes on his site. But Magnum spent hours and hours on this thread pushing his agenda with  - well - everyone.

Who does that?

Actually, I've seen this done way too many times. Hell, I've even done it myself. It is easy to get way too wrapped up and emotionally involved in a thread and before you know it...  You cross too many lines and you get the zot.

There comes a time when we all need to walk away from a thread. While we still can.
