Interior Secretary: ‘Not Even Harry Potter’ Can Bring Down Gas Prices

“Not even Harry Potter” can bring down rising gas prices and nobody knows when they will stop rising, Interior Secretary Ken Salazar said Tuesday. “No-one has the ability – not even Harry Potter – to simply wave a magic wand and say that we’re going to have gas prices at $2 or $2.50 or $3. It just doesn’t work that way,” said Salazar, whose department controls oil and gas drilling on federal lands. The comments came after a speech at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C. on energy issues. Salazar said prices were set by “global economics.”

This guy must think we are stupid. George Bush made the price fall like a rock with the stroke of the pen.

America waved the Magic Hope and Change wand in 2008 and gasoline prices magically went from $2 a gallon to $5 a gallon in just 4 years.

If Obama can bring down the sea level, why can’t he bring down gas prices?

Not very soon. It is like closing the barn doors after the cow has left the barn. Everything that President Bush did to bring gas prices down after the last price spike was reversed by Zer0. This is why we should be looking at Zer0 as what Glen Beck calls him, an “un-indicted co-conspiritor.”

Not only am I furious about their unwillingness to end the fuel rip-off, now they’re putting it into terms of comic book-like characters.

It seems Mr. Salazar is something of a contrarian indicator.

Gas prices have fallen ten cents over the past week.

Of course there is no magic wand that will instantly reduce gasoline prices. But if you are willing to go all out to increase production of petroleum, natural gas and (yes) coal, the price of gasoline and energy in general will begin to fall and will continue to fall.

We did that with natural gas and the price has fallen to 25% of what it was a few year ago. (But it didn’t happen overnight).

Do nothing and all energy costs will continue to rise.

Sarah Palin as secretary of the interior would have gas prices down at least a dollar inside one month.

BS!

Look at natural gas prices and LNG.
Recent reports have them at HALF what they were just a couple of years ago.

What changed was an increase in supply, to the point we are beginning to EXPORT LNG!

LNG can be shipped, there is a worldwide demand, so LNG is “Fungible”, just like oil.

Claims that an increase in domestic oil supplies would have no effect on world prices are pure propaganda intended to support the “Green” (Red!) BS this regime and their eco-nut socialist base are ramming down our throats.

The regime has blocked domestic oil at every opportunity, a small increase has come about DESPITE them, nearly all on private land!

USGS reports reveal that the U.S. has enough domestic oil to be “Energy Independent” in a decade or less if we were just allowed to develop it.
This would kill the “Green” fantasy for the foreseeable future, well connected special interest (not necessarily interested is supporting the U.S.) have invested heavily in the “Green” agenda, this regime intends to make certain they collect on those investments.

Yes, it IS treason, but good luck doing anything about it.

Yeah. But then people would get jobs with those mean old earth rapists like "Big Oil".

Then who would be left to person all those super jobs in the Green Energy Sector where the future really is?

Well, strangely enough, printing money like its toilet paper makes Arabs want more of it for their oil.

Stop churning out Obama Dollars and the price of oil will reflect supply and demand again. The current supply and demand is the more obama supplies fresh minted dollars the less demand for them.
