“I’m NOT [dropping out] I am in here... Do I need to tattoo it to my forehead, all the way to Tampa?”
— Newt Gingrich, Apr 10, 2012

“I want you to know over the next few days, we’re going to look realistically at where we are at” in the campaign, Gingrich told a crowd of just one hundred people at his election night rally, calling himself a “citizen” rather than a candidate.
— Newt Gingrich, April 24, 2012

Hmmm. So much for the tattoo.

Newt did not drop out before Georgia like your PA home boy did.

So, it would seem that voting in California’s primary this year will be purely symbolic (except for local races).

Newt got spanked bad all over tonight. Time to to quit the game with dignity and party loyalty. Anthing less, and....Newt makes a fool out of himself. Newt’s ability to effect change or have impact on the upcoming election recedes every day he remains in active campaign mode. Sad to watch a great man wallow in fantasy. The real world game begins tonight, Anybody But Obama.

That’s not what he said on Hannity’s show today. He seemed pretty solid about staying in. Romney isn’t the candidate until he gets... What is it? 1140 delegates? Or some such...

So where are all the “Without Santorum, Newt will turn this election around” crowd?”

Despite his issues, Santorum was far closer to “Conservative” than the Big-government Socialist Romney. Newt is proving what many of us have been saying- he cannot win. Unfortunately, he played the spoiler to Santorum, whether because he is an idiot, or because his pride overcame brains (or maybe Newt played the useful idiot for the RNC/GOP to preserve Romney’s annointing.

Where are all the Huckabee haters who blasted him for the same role in 2008? Foot, even Huckster would have been a better choice than Romney.

Konnecticut went Romney - not my fault, I voted for Newt.
Now I must do everything I can to ensure a Tea Party-like Congress (to keep our Mittens honest).

Why couldn’t he drop out back when we still had a chance to elect someone other than Romney? Newt played the spoiler and now we get to pay for it.

He needs to stay in as anything can happen, including the unexpected. What harm does he do staying in now?
