I can only hope you live in a solid Rep state, in which your not voting is immaterial, otherwise Obama thanks you.

Nice that the primaries are over before Texas has a chance to even vote!

What a rigged system!

Newt is a great talker, but a poor doer.

I was having a conversation with my wife about Romney. I mentioned the cartoon where he has many mouths and says, “Just stop me when you hear something you like.”

I told her that with mr Etch a sketch you can not listen to what he says. You have to see what he does. She then said that he concerns her too but yesterday he said that...And I said, No. Do not listen to what he says.

She rightly rebuked me for insulting her, though I was really only trying to make a joke.

What was interesting was that both of us acknowledged that we have heard him say some good things - and that is the problem: We were factoring in what he says.

It is irrelevant. I will not even listen to his comments or read transcripts. His words are as meaningless as the words on that famous piece of paper held up by Neville Chamberlain. Actions are all that matter when assessing the values and principles of politicians like Romney.

Great post! Thanks for the link.  Thank you.

Look, I don’t want to vote for r-Omni either. But, unless there’s a third party candidate waiting in the wings who can inspire the nation, the battle for the combatant to go up against Obama is over with.  I am tired of backing Republicans who destroy the image of Conservatism.  These folks are Leftists every bit as much as Obama is.  We can no longer afford to win elections only to lose.

We lost that battle.  Yes we did.  And that was the only battle worth winning this year, once it was lost.  If Romney is elected, we won't have a chance to get a Conservative elected until 2020, and even then the Vice-President may suck up all the oxygen in the room.  How does 2024 sound to you?  Still want to vote in another Leftist Republican?

Time to lick our wounds and regroup.  I'm regrouping with Independents.  The Republican party I joined in 1969, is dead to me.

Ever since Herman Cain was forced out, I’ve known that r-Omni would get the nomination. It’s history repeating itself as was the case in 2008 with McLame’s candidacy.  Yes it is.

So, once Herman Cain was hooked off the stage, I turned my attention to the REAL BATTLE:  The Senate and House races!!!  I've got no problem with that.  I support these efforts.

Right now, I am actively campaigning for the conservative House and Senate candidates here in Missouri.  Good for you.

If we can shake things up and infuse the House and Senate with a majority of conservatives, then IT DOESN’T MATTER WHO IS IN THE FREAKIN’ WHITEHOUSE!!! Well, if they're ruling by Executive Order, it actually does.  None the less, if our guy isn't going to turn things around, and will only inflict more Leftist damage, then count me out.  And that being the case, I am out.

Redraw your battle lines, my friend, and focus on the House and Senate races. That is where we will win or lose this war! Cheers
I hear ya.  I've seen what passes for majority leadership in the House these days.  It's mostly worthless to have the majority with people like Boehner in there.  Still, it is better than have Pelosi in charge.

Good grief are we screwed!

Never trust anonymous sources. You know, Newt has been undermined every step of the way. It makes me sick. Our country needs Newt now more than ever.

I know a lot of people say that about Thompson, and they may be right. I don’t remember him waiting months after he was dead in the water to withdraw. He may have.

I agree with your “served no other purpose” comment. I don’t know how else you frame it quite frankly.

I voted for Newt in GA. He has won like two primaries. He is done. I lost in the primaries. I am over it. I move on to the general. Obama or Romney. Easy choice.

Neither Sanatorum or Newt had any real chance to win this, they didn't have the inner toughness.

Newt gave great speeches, but then started talking about going back to the moon!

Santorum was an empty suit, who spent most of his time in the Senate compromising.

The primayr system is set up for the establishment candidate to win, Reagan was an exception.

Santorum is out. Freepers are going to have to face the music and either vote for Mitt or vote for Obama. Any vote NOT stopping Obama is a vote for him.

In 1932, a number of anti-Nazis refused to unite behind the leading party that could stop Hitler. They all had good reasons. And they all put Hitler in power.

It was my take that Newt had way too much baggage to be elected. He couldn’t even take his own party, much less the Independents and the Democrats.

That left me with Santorum or Romney. I didn’t and still don’t think Santorum was a great choice, but he was head and shoulders better than Romney. I talked him up, but when you get down to it, my heart wasn’t really into it. He was his own worst enemy.

Was he an empty suit? Well, perhaps so. At least he wasn’t the suit filled with a Massachusetts’s Liberal.

I agree with your take on Reagan’s victory. He wasn’t supposed to win. Most people don’t give him any credit for it, but he did set back the globalist movement for about a decade. That was one of his best services to the nation.

Excellent point. I bet they grew up a tad bit more during his years. Too bad their growth came at such a price.

That's why he's a college professor. ;-)
