Huh? If Newt made the ballot you will still be able to vote for him in California or Texas. Santorum's campaign has been suspended for awhile now and he still beat Newt in Pennsylvania last night.
Once candidates realize they have no chance to win they drop out. That is how it works. Why would Newt continue a campaign that he can't win? It takes money? Is he supposed to lie to donors and tell them there is a real chance? Most people will see through that and not give anymore anyway. So without money how is Newt supposed to campaign? No one was disenfranchised. If you live in California or Texas, and Newt made the ballot, you can still vote for him.
I live in Texas and am still annoyed at the way we were screwed around on the primary date.
I shall, however, vote for the next president of the United States.
And I don’t mean the Green Paty.
If Santorum would've dropped out one day earlier he would've been removed from the Pennsylvania ballot. Once they drop out I believe they generally are removed from upcoming ballots if there's enough time.
It might be a momentum thing. Would be nice to have primaries on one day. Little states get more power than the big states CA & TX.
Kind of like how FL voters in north FL quit voting because the state had already been called for.
