1. Bush passed a huge tax cut plan, mostly benefiting the wealthy. Romney’s tax cut plan is four times larger, more heavily weighted to benefit ultra wealthy.

2. Bush signed the McCain-Feingold campaign finance law. Romney supports repealing virtually all campaign finance laws.

3. Bush supported comprehesive immigration reform, a path to citizenship for 12 million undocumented immigrants and provisions of the DREAM Act. Romney opposes all of it.

Bush was a mush, but Romney is just plain weak.

Neither of them are right-wing enough.

Mitt Romney Is More Right Wing Than George W. Bush

Well, that's damning with faint praise. John F. Kennedy was more right wing than Mitt Romney.

All these things Romney SAYS he is. Whether or not this dog will hunt remains to be seen, but I doubt he will.

The only possible reason he might govern conservatively is because he will have to rely on conservatives to get elected and potentially reelected.

They’re comparing what Bush did to what Romney says he will do!?! Like everything he did or not there’s one way Bush is better than Romney. He did what he said he would do.

Bush passed a huge tax cut plan, mostly benefiting the wealthy. Romney’s tax cut plan is four times larger. "Plans" made on campaign are a dome a dozen. It's whether or not we trust a candidate enough to actually carry them out if elected that matters.

Fair enough.

But they're about as good as we're going to get.

Romney supports repealing virtually all campaign finance laws.

RULE #1 - RULE #2 - RULE #3 - RULE #4 - RULE #5

Never believe what Romney says - HE IS A KNOWN LIAR!

So much for what Romney says ...

And he has his staff working 24/7 on 'who can I trash today to make myself look better', 'who can I get to support me today', I think we need a few more articles that 'Newt is dropping out', and a few more that 'all the troops will rallying around me'. Get busy peons!

I'd rather not hear 'what Romney says' until the 12th of never!

Dude. This has to be the most left wing site I have seen in a while. All type of Obummer pimping going on there. There is an article whining that Obummer isn’t pushing Global Warming hard enough. WTF?

Romney “says” a lot. And most of it contradicts with his actual record. Not to mention his previous statements. I frankly find it wholly impossible to trust him on any issue or any thing.

yeah, I’ve been enjoying comments completely oblivious to who the two authors ARE .. much less what they are saying and to whom. They’re telling their far left wing readers/fans .. if you think Bush was bad, wait till you check out Romney. And it’s all being confirmed at FR.

George W. Bush grew spending on domestic programs more than Bill Clinton did and racked up deficits that were record-breaking at the time. That doesn’t sound right wing to me.

Problem is - just as a lot of the Romney apologists floating around - it misstates and even manipulates Romney positions. Of course, we also must take into account that Romney has a reputation for being somewhat Kerry-esque - aka - a flip-flopper. So what he says on this campaign stop or in this interview, may very well be something completely different a week later.

Several of the points don’t make a lick of sense (on top of the misstatements and manipulations):

Tax cut - I have never been anything remotely close to being “wealthy” - not even to the casual observer... yet I benefitted directly from the “Bush Tax Cuts” - as did millions of Americans who saw their investments rise, and their paychecks grow (and business expansion).

And of course Romney supports repeal of “all campaign finance laws”... I suppose he would even like to be able to LEGALLY take bribes...errr... campaign contributions from the ChiComs and others... Repeal all campaign finance laws, and George Soros can just buy himself a president - and not have to hide it behind his vast network of corporations and foundations.

Romney’s so-called position on immigration counts on voluntary self-deportation, but he is in no way supportive of penalties for those who employe illegals. And he is now “on board” with DREAM Act-lite.

LOL!! Conservatives aren't responsible for him being the weakest of all candidates so obama has an easy knockout in the ring.

He has to rely on his own pitiful self and his supporters because Conservatives $upported and voted for NEWT! We take NO responsibility for Romney.

The media and barry’s war room has more info on Romney than FR servers can hold. Remember that when you feel the need to twist things.

Romney is definitely teleprompter material - he needs to be kept on track and then he can blame the teleprompter and say I never said that, the teleprompter did!
