How could Bill Clinton be Obama’s running mate, when Bill is not legally allowed to run for president again?

Aren’t the legal qualifications to be president and vice-president identical? So that if you aren’t eligible to run for president, then you aren’t eligible to run for vice-president? What am I missing?

Under the Constitutional rules he would be allowed to serve two more years. You can serve 10 years total as Pres. 8 of your own terms and 2 if you succeeded a fallen Pres. This way a President who takes over like LBJ or Calvin Coolidge, etc can still run for a second term.

The law states you cannot run for three consecutive terms.
