I used to date a lady who had ancestors that came from Africa via Trinidad/Tobago. Her daughters graduated high-school early and entered college at at 17. She was adamant about keeping them away from the culture. She wanted them to thrive.

Stories like this make my blood boil. Those girls still visit me when they come home from school. They were like my own daughters for several years.
