Last week, we noted that a poll conducted for the campaign of Richard Mourdock showed him leading Sen. Richard Lugar by five points in the race for the Republican nomination for the Indiana Senate seat Lugar has held since 1977. Lugar’s polling may well confirm that he is in trouble. Recently, his campaign has been flailing at Mourdock with an air of desperation.

We definitely need some good news after the Romney disaster. Anyone who voted to confirm Kagan needs to go.

On Lugar's balance sheet: Pro-life, pro-military, pro-republican court appointees.

On his debit side: he loves the democrats a bit TOO much.

Maybe he is fond of the good old days when republicans knew their place, back of the bus.

But at least he got to have a beer with Tip O'Neill after a royal beat-down.

it is a BAD IDEA to respond to a question about supporting Mourdock after the primary he should win with the snotty. “We are going to win and we will welcome Mourdock’s support.” How very unsporting and childish.

That's exactly how everyone should have answered when asked if they'd support Mitt Romney if he won the primary.

The politicians treat congress like a country club they are entitled to raid for perks.

You are so right. This is not the gentile (or was it ever) days. This is the time of cspan and blogs and FR’s and social outlets. We did not elect them to sip tea and bask in the glory of their own reflections.

Republicans who voted for Elena Kagan, who was confirmed by the Senate by a vote of 63-37:

Richard Lugar
Lindsey Graham
Judd Gregg
Susan Collins
Olympia Snowe

That makes 5 Senate Republicans more liberal than Democrat Ben Nelson who voted NAY.

If they had voted conservative, she would have been filibustered off the bench.

I know they have nothing but contempt for conservatives and conservatism. I worked for Danforth when he and Lugar were best buds. They laughed at Reagan, and as soon as they felt like they didn’t have to go along with him any more, they jumped off the bandwagon and started sharpening the knives. I was a Reaganite mole at the time. Sadly, Reagan was but a brief interlude while the Lugars and other progressive pubbies plotted to get back in charge. Once back, they are never going to let us run things ever again, I promise you. The only issue is when are we going to realize that?

Gotta go what Breitbart and O’Keefe are doing to the Dims to the RINOs. Uncover old tapes and get some damning off-mike comments on the record.

Daniels lost me when he suggested a social values “truce” with the left. To me, that`s an absolute no-go.
