But here's a "What-If":
What if Obama is the AntiChrist (or at least an antichrist, and it seems pretty plain to me that he is); and what if God, for His own inscrutable reasons, has decided to stand up Romney as the defender of our ideologically Christian-based national order — then what? (There's irony there....)
Do you prefer to feel self-justified in the purity of your belief, and "vote your principles" rather than defend your nation against the greatest perversion this nation has ever seen (arguably, including human chattel slavery)? Someone who holds your beliefs in utter contempt, who holds Christianity in utter contempt? Who holds human liberty in utter contempt? Who holds the Constitution in utter contempt, and spits on it every day? And this is the guy who's running our nation and all it stands for — right into the ground?
And you will do nothing to remove him from office, nothing to defend our Republic against the evil that he is relentlessly perpetrating on it — because you cannot accept a candidate who wears "temple garments," who thinks differently than you do about religious matters?
Jeepers, I wonder about your sense of proportion....
We are a nation under God: And that nation needs defending!
Sigh. I'm beginning to feel what Cassandra must have felt, who saw what was coming — the Trojan War and the subsequent utter destruction of Troy — and tried to warn people. But of course, nobody listened to her. She had to sit haplessly, helplessly by, in agony, watching all her predictions being relentlessly fulfilled....
This, to me, is a good analogy of what is happening, here and now....

You have me entirely wrong, Betty. It honestly has nothing to do with Mormonism. With a Mormon associate, I co-authored a program entitled "Spiritual Dimensions of Family Living" some 15 years ago. We worked closely for nearly a year huddled in some corner of each other's homes. We jointly and individually presented that program to groups for years.
Would I teach Mormon theology? Of course not, but I'm quite certain he wouldn't be teaching Trinitarianism at his local stake, either.
I oppose Romney because he a pro-abortion, pro-gay marriage, anti-gun, pro-big government, pro-tax, 3rd way, social corporatist.
He is also the seducer.
It is not Obama who appears to be an "Angel of Light". He, in fact, appears to be an incompetent to me. My biblical background says that Obama is not the anti-Christ. He's the son of a Kenyan and some variety of English Anglo-Saxon. He doesn't even qualify. The Romans were still attempting to conquer England in 70 AD amid uprisings in the conquered territories. They weren't conscripting the enemy that I know of. Kenya wasn't part of the Roman Empire at all. The Romans had no desire to conquer that far south.
So, there is no way in which they were part of the people of those who destroyed Jerusalem.

Betty, unfortunately there are a lot of Christians out there who are more in fear of Obama than they are in fear of God. What if???
Do you not know that God already knows whether or not Obama is going to be re-elected? Do you not know that God ultimately makes his choice for who our leader is going to be either as a punishment for our sins, a reward for our faith or any other reason that God comes up with to make that determination on our behalf?
Unfortunately too many Christians are willing to compromise on principles out of fear. We will vote for evil because one evil is perceived in our mind as being more evil than another evil. We make that choice even when there is a solid choice for Good -- in this case "Goode".
Romney has a proven track record of being an evil politician on issues of life, family and just about every other social ill that God has expressed his hatred of (abortion, homosexuality, the redefinition of the family, forcing religious institutions to fund or provide contraceptives and abortion services) -- whatever the liberal position is, Romney has a track record of supporting it.
I believe that God gave us Obama as a test and possibly as a punishment for our faithlessness and our toleration of evil. Romney does not represent a deviation from that toleration and is as tolerant of evil as Obama.
So if you think your compromising vote for Romney in this election will help to save America, then I fear for America. As Christians we need to stand up to the forces of evil in the world not to compromise for the lesser of two evils. We will never change as a nation until we collectively repent of our sins and turn our face to God. Romney believes he will someday be a God. That is his primary purpose in being a Temple worthy Mormon. Is that the God you intend to turn your face towards? Is that the God in whom you will put your faith and trust?

The same can be said of Mittens. Mitt is definitely ANTI-Christ, at least the Christ of the Bible.
Mitt doesn’t believe in the same God Christians do. If you knew Mormonism, you would understand that.
