Suspect Tries to Rob the 'Wrong Guys'(TX)

HOUSTON - A robbery suspect with a gun chose the wrong place at the wrong time to threaten three men who were meeting behind a restaurant. He learned the hard way that they guns of their own.

Three undercover narcotics officers, who were dressed in shorts and baseball-style caps with no badges visible, were meeting around 11 p.m. Wednesday in the parking lot behind the Luby's Cafeteria on the Gulf Freeway frontage road near Telephone Road when a man wearing a ski mask jumped out from behind a bush, approached the group of undercover officers, pointed a gun at them and demanded their money and wallets.

The officers complied with the robber at first and emptied their pockets, but one of the officers began to speak with the robber, which allowed one of the other officers to walk behind one of the vehicles parked nearby.

When the robber threatened to shoot the officer who spoke to him, the officer who was hiding behind the vehicle fired several gunshots toward the robber and struck him once. The third officer also fired shots at the robber.

"He meant business and obviously did not know he was dealing with police officers," said John Cannon, spokesman with the Houston Police Department. "He picked three wrong guys to try to rob."

The robber died as a result of the shooting.

Police later learned the suspect tried to rob a Taco Bell restaurant on South Wayside Drive almost 30 minutes earlier in the night.

This story is a little dated, but I do not recall seeing it posted.

It’s always good to read about the gene pool being upgraded.

Oh man, the libtards must be furious that another “victim” won't have a chance to do it again. Let's see, hmm, a government employee with a gun took three shots and hit him only once and, obviously, the other guy didn't hit him at all. And the bleeding hearts think that guns in the hands of everyday citizens are dangerous?

“When the robber threatened to shoot the officer who spoke to him, the officer who was hiding behind the vehicle fired several gunshots toward the robber and struck him once”

The Police know what to say to meet the legal definition of self defense. I doubt that the perp actually made such a threat right before being shot - but it sure makes for a better story before a judge and jury - or a story that makes sure you won't stand before a judge and jury.

Detailing how cleverly you ‘got the drop on them’ is NOT the way to go.

Did he have a dog with him?

Seriously, good job by the narcs. It might be the lowest cost bust on record; investigation, arrest, prosecution and sentencing all in what sounds like 5-10 minutes tops. Took a lot longer to write it up I’ll bet.

Who knew that Luby’s serves up just desserts out in the back parking lot?

On the other hand Zimmerman killed Trayvon with the one and only shot from a relatively small caliber (9mm) round. If Martin was the thig in training many think, I think that was good shooting. I can only hope more gangsta and gangsta wannabes get trayvoned.

Dude. A ‘relatively small’ caliber pushing a 147gr HP will do the job on most any thug. That said, bigger is almost always better.

Seriously, I’m waiting for the other shoe to drop here in Norfolk. I’m thinking there will be several Trayvon wannabes exsanguinating down in the projects before the summer is out.

Was dark. And I have a suspicion that the perp was dark also.

Oh, and they may have just eaten. You need to wait at least an hour before shooting at a perp. Or was that swimming?

Does anyone remember about 20 or 30 years ago when a bunch of cops were having a meeting in a hotel in the L. A. area. A guy broke into the room and demanded money and the cops, all armed, shot him dead.

That’s why I define a trayvon as a one shot kill using a .38/9 mm or smaller caliber handgun. Use it as a noun or verb for terminating gangstas and wannabe gangstas who believe battery is a legitimate life style choice..

Sometimes exsanguiinating is a good thing. Maybe we need to sell T shirts with the slogan, “Let me help you exsanguinate.” along with a picture of a suitably aimed handgun.
