Fox News anchor on Newt Gingrich: ‘Now I’m sure’ he’s delusional

Fox News anchor Shep Smith, with the help of GOP veteran Ed Rollins, gave a brutal review of Newt Gingrich’s exit from the Republican presidential race – sure to exacerbate the feud between Gingrich and the conservative cable news network.

Says Rollins: “He epitomhttpized the sore loser. This is a tough game, but he epitomized the sore loser.”

Said Smith, harkening back to the beginning of Gingrich’s campaign: “I thought then he was delusional, and now I’m sure.”

I think the May (and even June) primaries are being held, but they seem to be purely symbolic. I feel bad for the states that are spending millions to hold them, and for the voters, who clearly realize that their votes count for nothing now.

“This was predictable early - Thomas Sowell did among others.”

Anyone with a brain, and willing to think, knew this was going to be Mitt Romney’s nomination, the day Sarah Palin announced she wasn’t running.

It’s all just been kabuki from there.

Ron Paul is apparently running a stealth campaign to capture the actual role of delegates in various states. They’ve had good success and are discussing “abstaining” from the initial vote. It be a miracle, but it would be a miracle if the Pauliacs managed to keep Mitt from reaching the 1,144 votes.

I’m not sure the notMitt opposition would have become organized behind Palin had she entered.

I believe Sowell’s point was the candidates themselves had to unite, with the others dropping out. As long as they were in, the vote would be split.

It’s sad that such an opportunity for a strong conservative candidate was wasted, but that’s where we are.

thanks for your reply.
