There is no place for religion in Britain.
“There is no place for religion in Britain.”
An ironic comment from an American about the UK.
Why? Well despite this ruling, the UK is an officially christian country and the US is officially secular. Our head of state is also the head of our church. Our parliament has lords spiritual - lords who vote on all legislation put before the house to ensure a christian influence and perspective is considered. All of the lords spiritual are christian, no other religions are represented in this way. There is no separation of church and state in the UK and my local state school sings christian hymns every morning before class.
I suspect the doctor in question was rather unsubtle and evangelical in his communications and failed to quit when requested to do so by colleagues.
