The Human Consequences of EPA’s War on Coal
Heritage ^ | 5/3/12 | Lachlan Markay

There are very real consequences to the Environmental Protection Agency’s continued efforts to undermine America’s coal industry. Those consequences were recently spotlighted in an industry-produced video, embedded above.

Maria Tworek owns a sports bar in Omaha, Nebraska. “Our energy bills are sky-high,” Tworek explains. The bar has to keep its cooling facilities running 24/7 to keep all of its beer cold. If “we can’t cool our product, we don’t make money,” Tworek says. “It’s as simple as that.”

The bar is Tworek’s livelihood. “This is how we live,” she says. “This is how we support our family.”

Nebraska is a coal-intensive state. According to the video, 71% of the state’s power comes from coal. And while the state has the 11th lowest electricity costs in the nation, Tworek says “prices seem to continually go up.”

If the EPA has its way, those price hikes will only intensify. For the first time ever, the agency has classified carbon dioxide, the chemical compound that sustains vegetative life, as a “pollutant.” Using the resulting authority over carbon emission regulations, the EPA now plans restrictions on coal power plants that are so stringent, they will likely herald the demise of coal’s role in electricity production.

“New coal plants would effectively be banned because their emission rate is almost double that of the proposed standard,” explains Bloomberg’s Rob Barnett in a new report

The goal is famine in the USA.

He wants to make the ongoing fake “childhood hunger” campaign on the Food Network and elsewhere, come true.

It isn’t only your beer Hon. It’s the Grocery’s meat department, it’s the air conditioner thta keeps your elderly mom alive, it’s the traffic lights and the way people recharge those electric cars that Obama keeps shoving down our throats. Electricity is not an option , its a necessity.

How about all of those poor bastids in W Va. who earnm their living digging that coal, the trains that deliver it, what happens to their jobs?

We have an ignorant man in the White House who doesn’t think things through. Or perhaps he just doesn’t care.
I believe that is the problem , he doesn’t care, He has enough money for he and the Wide Load and their kids to make it off of.

Obama does think things through. Here is what he said in 2008:
What I've said is that we would put a cap-and-trade system in place that is more -- that is as aggressive if not more aggressive than anybody else's out there, so if somebody wants to build a coal-powered plant, they can, it's just that it will bankrupt them because they're going to be charged a huge sum for all that greenhouse gas that's being emitted.
That is not the casual spouting of his village idiot VP, but rather the calculated and deliberate plan of a man who is bent on fundamentally transforming the United States.

"FORWARD!"

The private sector is moving forward and building gas fired power plants and erecting windmills.

Plus, The nat gas company Chesapeake has been giving money to the Sierra Club to attack the coal industry.

Zero the Marxist thug has essentially told us (and a lot of other Americans) to drop dead.

Trouble is, ANYBODY who buys in to the "manmade global warming" ideology will do the same thing as 0bama. The global warming filth absolutely HATE coal.

Here in PA prior to the 08 elections there were commercials running left and right warning the coal workers and affiliated unions that they would basically be voting themselves out of work with this administration.
I don't have too much sympathy for them and I hope after the '12 elections the EPA gets scrapped (fat chance with willard at the helm) and coal plants re-opened only WITHOUT unionization. F 'em.

Oh, he’s thought it through OK. He told everyone he’d do this before he was elected. No one should act suprised.

He wrote his own version of Mein Kampf. It was there for everyone to read. Everyone chose to not take him at his word.

I think we’ve become too stupid to survive.

The EPA doesn’t give a crap how many people’s lives it wrecks. They just focus on their “green utopia” wet dream.

I beg to differ; he knows exactly what he is doing and what the effects will be. It is all part of the plan to destroy capitalism and make America a Marxist "paradise".
