George Zimmerman: Historic civil rights group to bring convention to Sanford

SANFORD -- The Southern Christian Leadership Conference, a group closely associated with the birth of the civil rights movement, is bringing its annual convention to Sanford, in order to keep the spotlight on the Trayvon Martin case.

SCLC Interim President C.T. Vivian says the group wants to speak to the overall issue of African-Americans "being seen as something they are not"' and "being killed for something they shouldn't be killed for."

Vivian says the Martin shooting is an opportunity to engage young people and teach them about non-violent direct action, a cornerstone of the civil rights movement....

George Zimmerman’s attacker got shot because he was physically threatening an innocent armed citizen.

The “civil rights” industry will NEVER accept that fact...but we cannot allow the lie to take hold in the popular mind.

1 Martin was not from Sanford
2 Martin was not in the “hood”, but was staying in one of the nicer apartment complex.
3 Seminole county is one of the smallest counties in Florida but has high income.
4 You can see more black Sanfordites fishing on the shore of Lake Monroe than at the “rallies” for Martin. ( most of those people are not from Seminole County)
