“Why didn’t the GOP nominate a strong conservative this time?”

Because it is not a conservative party. It is only intended to look like one.

The real fight is not horizontal between the left and the right. The real fight is vertical, between the Washington government and duped, taxed and hassled Americans. The feigned struggles between these two corrupt parties is just a Punch and Judy show. The puppet show sells tickets and keeps the audience occupied.

Principled Conservatives will go where their values are extolled and reflected.

That's not what Reagan did during the time of his words at the top of this thread. He was fighting within the GOP against those he called 'traitors'. He didn't leave, he didn't blame 'the party' he stayed and fought and won.

This was in 1966, for governor. Later, when he lost the presidential nomination to Ford, he didn't leave the party either. He endorsed Ford in a rousing speech, one that helped him gain support for the next primary.

Reagan didn't blame the GOP, he didn't run to some one-horse party to avoid those he knew he had to defeat eventually anyway. He stayed and fought and built and changed the party.

The lesson we should take is, it is time to do this again.

Because it is not a conservative party.

Which primary do the vast majority of conservatives vote in?

No, it is time to throw the rotting corpse of the GOP on top of the bones of Whigs. Past time, really.

I see. And leave the field to the Democrats?

I don’t need a crowd.

We’re still here. :)

There is no need for two leftwing welfare state parties.

The strongest one will survive, and it won’t be the GOP.

Does that mean only the Dems will exist?

Or...?

Is it fair for me to say that if have your chance to vote Obama out, but don't take it, you forfeit your right to bitch about him?

My point, before I too leave is:

If you can’t do it within the GOP, the party with the vast majority of conservatives, you can’t do it from scratch.

Whatever the tasks, people, tactics, communication, leadership, organization, etc., they are the same. Only it takes a great deal more effort and time to do it from scratch.

Reagan didn’t leave or blame the party. I don’t think it makes any sense either.

I support anarchy and the end of America as we know it.

Oh goodness no, they get to bitch about Obama and blame the rest for his victory.

;)

Good night all...

No, wrong. You do not understand how the Ruling Class GOP-e has rigged itself to immunity from change. Several FReepers reported Cook-County styled strong-arming and rules changing during Caucuses to literally steal delegates for Romney and shut down any protests to overt rules violations.

Sadly I do not think you and a host of other well-intentioned and scared-to-death folks know what time it actually is, and how screwed and betrayed we really are.

The GOP is dead as a viable party for Conservatives if anyone is willing to look at the fruits. The Ruling Class in the party are not only allied with the MarxoFascists for a share of the pie, the leadership of the GOP wants the Conservative movement dead as much as the Democrats do.

Apparently many of you forgot the abject outrage and anger Conservatives generated from the GOP leadership when we melted the phone lines of the Capitol switchboard over Bush's attempt to grant Illegals Amnesty in 2007.

Well I remember it, and I remember the insults handed down to us. I believe the GOP-e determined then and there that they needed to 'deal' with the Principled faction of the "big tent" they wanted as a bridge to power with the Democrats. And by 'Deal', I mean destroy and make irrelevant. They do not care if Obama gets another term, their focus is on wiping us out. They hedged their bets on the future of big Statism and having a seat at the table, and their fingers within reach of all the money centralized with all the power in DC.

Shoving a clone of Obama in record upon the party ensures that Socialism wins no matter who wins in November. We are so brainwashed into thinking the GOP is an opposition party, we refuse to see the evidence right before our eyes that the GOP is Allied with Obama for the purpose of keeping themselves in power with a big hand in the redistribution of wealth now begun in earnest under Obama.

You will not save the nation by voting for Romney.

And if Romney should win by some miracle, not one jot or tittle of what Obama has already done will be reversed. Instead, it will be upheld and institutionalized.

You'll see. Thankfully I am not the only one here who sees this cycle and the GOP-e for what it is. But know we are DONE with party. The GOP has already become dead and just a satellite of the MarxoFascists, the conditioned and the fearful just don't realize it yet.

Okay, to everyone now using the talking point that "Reagan did not leave the GOP, he fought to transform it and so should we" - I have a question.

Why didn't Reagan stay within the Democrat party and try reforming it from within instead of jumping parties?

The answer reveals why Conservatives cannot and should not stay within the GOP and hope in vain to change it.

Not if they want any relevant political voice in the future.

The GOP has not only left us, it has gone to war against us and foisted a near-clone of an overt Marxist upon us as the national nominee.

Principled Conservatives need to find another party and let the GOP become absorbed into the Democrat party. This nation was built from scratch, so making a new home from scratch for Conservatives is cake in comparison.

I'm done being a battered wife voter for the adulterous GOP.

Here’s another one to add to your list.

See my tagline...........

Let me first say that I respect your opinion and admire you for taking a strong Conservative stand.

I did the same thing last election, obviously to no avail. I, too, logged in my protest vote against the RINO-McCain by writing in Duncan Hunter/John Bolton.

This election is entirely different. The zer0 WILL appoint super-lib Communists/Lesbians/Homos to the SCOTUS and America will be “Fundamentally changed”.....forever.

It goes against every Conservative cell in my body to pull the lever for a proven RINO, but I will do damn near anything to boot 0bama out of office.

We can survive a Romney Presidency. We cannot survive four more years of Socialism/Marxism under 0bama.

Flame away, if you wish. Call me a liberal “Romney-Bot” if you see fit. I really don’t care because I have America’s best interest in my heart.

I’ve never seen anyone quite so worked up and enthusiastic about handing the country to Obama once again, so he can finish the job.

In other words, “I’M GONNA SIT ON MY BUTT!!! YAY ME!!!!”

Nicely done.
