Just because he is a thoroughly good man, and the Constitution Party has the best platform out there (IMHO), doesn't mean that he can possibly be elected president, regardless of what we do in the next six months. (Short of direct divine intervention, of course.)
Let's face it - this thread is about surrender. Plain and simple.
If conservatives were really as worthy as we like to thump our chest and point to ourselves as being, we'd get out and work for a real conservative - six months or no - instead of rolling over and pulling the Rom-knee pads out of the drawer.
Hardly! Who one supports for President is not the defining issue--although in 2012 defeating Obama is an absolutely essential tactical necessity! But the real fight, both now & after the election, is the same as it has been throughout all of our lives. And that is now, as it was always, to cherish & defend the heritage that made the America we believe in, possible. If we elected the perfect Conservative, dedication to that purpose would still be necessary; if we fell to the worst Marxist thug, reiteration of that dedication would remain the only reasonable path for anyone hoping to restore what was lost.
It is in the battle of ideas--in our case the battle to repel the lies & deceptions of the Left--that must ever be the necessity to those "eternally vigilant," in America's cause.

Perhaps, unless of course, you’re prepared for martyrdom!

Exactly.
I hate these candidates who get in the race just to muddy the waters. They willing are used to bait and switch people who are not aware of the game plays...and to cover the flanks of other candidates....making it difficult for the average voter to determine who is really running the ball and who is just setting up another player to take it for the touchdown.
In this Primary it was evident the GOP was to keep Romney from being criticized, they accomplished that, and ready to take the ball for the touch down........where people got distracted is by those candidates being used by the GOP to run the ball for a time...and the media's cooperation in framing the race accordingly.
Romney certainly didn't win because of who he is...he only had to stay on the sidelines while the party, the Obama press, and his money took each candidate out one by one.
The voter took the bait and ran with it...and we saw that right here on FR.
So the fact is we lost....it's not surrender...it's facing the reality and moving ahead to what we can do to shut them down.
