You’ve got to have rules... and you’ve got to (or ought to) have heart.

The rules have to have heart, and have to be administered by people with heart, and for the goal of nothing less than heart.

Heart is the long process of tilling the soil, sowing the seeds, caring for the plants, and then harvesting at the right time while keeping seed stock to start the entire process the next year, while winter is spent repairing the farm where it needs it.

Rules are fire.

But we live in a world where everything is reversed. We have tens of millions of people who go to school and get employed solely so that they can use the maximum possible flamethrower, preferably napalm from airstrikes, if not nukes from orbit.

And against those tens of millions of flame throwers, we have a few hundred people willing to till the land - and they are the subject of hate campaigns from a media paid for by the people with flame throwers.

And yet, the best and brightest, while trying really, really, really hard, can't figure out what's wrong with the world.

Except, of course, that we need more flamethrowers.
