That sounds like an interesting recipe. I’ll have to see if Damiana is in stock at my liquor store - sounds like you might have to order it online. I haven’t had Hornitos tequila in a while. My brand of choice is Herradura. Once I started drinking that, I could never go back to Jose Cuervo again.
I see no reason why you couldn’t use Herradura, unless you wanted to save it for sipping ;-) And BTW, forgot to mention that that ‘rita has a name, based on its ingredients: The Dam Horny ‘Rita.
