Been pondering your dilemma. I know you been embroiled in the Texas Guvernor issue. I liked Rick Perry but you need to know that crack about Americans wanting this immigration problem solved having no heart hurt him bad.
It’s a quick knee jerk summary, but the bigger problem with this immigration problem is the POLITICIANS. They’ve kicked the can down the road, they’ve lied....and Americans are sick of them.
Unfortunately we end up fighting with each other and none of us are the problem.
FreeRepublic is a tough little nonsense forum but I seriously don’t think there’s many Freepers don’t like immigrants, legal or illegal.
But on this thread I’m reading about Michelle Malkin being the problem, we listen to the pundits....
...no we don’t. We want the matter solved and we don’t want to be called heartless for want a logical, sensible immigration system.
All the rest such as dream acts are just strawmen.
Believe me, no one is more aware than I am that Rick’s statement about ‘heart’however it is misquoted was a deathknell to his campaign.
He shouldn’t have said it and he apologized for it.
But I’m not hung up on Rick Perry. I think he was the best qualified contender in so many ways, but that’s over.
I am hung up on the stuff that I saw on Free Republic by people who came on Rick Perry threads to attack him.
It was beyond ugly, beyond vicious and opened my mind to the mindset of a lot of people here. I will never forget it.
You were not involved so you don’t know. And I appreciate it that you were not.
BTW, I know nothing about the Malkin controversy, I guess I missed it.
