I can understand, she was born in 1940/41 in Holland were as a very young child she witnessed people being rounded up by the Germans.
I suspect that her reaction countered by the opposite reaction by just as many people. Look at how many southeast Asians came here and armed themselves ASAP.

True, but it happened to her at a very young age, about 3-4.
Most of what she remembers is terror. Her mother was German so I guess she blames the war on guns. Because Hey! without guns it wouldn't have happened, right? sarc//>>
