An attack on a religion, or a lack of religion, for no other reason except to trash it, IMHO, is very un-American [Eastforker, post #157]
In honor of the sentiments expressed above, 'tis overdue for...
1. "Thou shalt not bash."
2. "If thy bash, thout art unabashadly 'Un-American' (or ______ fill-in-the-blank)"
3."Yes, this kind of name-calling, too (in #2) is indeed bashing religious people. ('Tis no way to get around, tho, we've tried)"
4. "But, hey, we can get away with it. We not only don't hold ourselves to the same standards we pin upon others...(Hence, the title), but we're the favored elitist bashers 'round these parts...We're so good at it we bash and nobody seems to know it!"
5. "We, after all, have a license to bash religious posters as 'Un-American' (or ________ fill-in-the-blank)
Signed...Certain Sentimentalists
Let me retort with the generic message board rules.
Rule 0/ Don’t be a d*ck.
Rule 1/ Thou shall call posters on BS. Civilly if possible, but some are too dense to get it.
Rule 2/ Thou shall never invoke Godwins Law, no matter the temptation. It is a meme that should have retired decades ago.
Rule 3/ Thou shalt avoid name calling unless they are funny at the time. Special note - name calling should be avoided totally after the second drink, posting at all after the third.
Rule 4/ Thou shalt not pursue from thread to thread. That is just sad.
Rule 5/ Thy license to bash posters is granted on the clear understanding that you can and will be bashed back. Calling for reinforcements or mods will be taken as a sign of failure by onlookers.
Rule 6/ If thou art answered, it is customary to reply. A certain time is permitted to do so, depending on the time zone of the posters and how strict their parents are about bed time.
Heck I was bored :P
