Government not living within it’s means is just a symptom of the larger problem. Government overspending is the result of government overstepping and that is due to socialism and all of its ills. When we speak of limited government or small government, we’re talking of restricting the government to only those enumerated powers delegated to it by the constitution. Do that and socialism is no longer a problem. Restrict the government as the founders intended and overspending (over taxing, over borrowing) is no longer the huge problem it is today. The only way socialism can take hold is by the government unconstitutionally forcing it on us. RomneyCare/ObamaCare is a prime example.

Government derives its just powers from the consent of the governed.

I refuse to grant my consent to socialists.

Socialism requires unconstitutional government force to deprive us of our God given unalienable rights, ie, tyranny.

We are the only nation on earth to recognize that our rights are granted to us by GOD and that we the people are the sovereigns. And that we are to be treated equally under the law. We consented to grant a limited part of our sovereign powers to the government but we agreed in the beginning to a contract (our constitution as legally amended and ratified) to restrict it to only those powers granted to it, by we the people, in the constitution. Without belief in God, we have no rights, no equality, no basis for law, nothing. You cannot separate fiscal conservatism from social conservatism or national security conservatism, etc. If you believe in conserving our constitution, our rights, our nation, our traditional American way of life, you have to include the entire package. Freedom of speech, freedom of religion, economic freedom, all our freedoms come directly from God.

Resistance to tyranny is obedience to God.

We are the resistance.

Thanks Jim for your very thoughtful reply.

I agree with what you have written to me about the cancer of Socialism. IMHO, we are on the same page.

Your partial quote: “ - - - You cannot separate fiscal conservatism from social conservatism or national security conservatism - - - “ IS what I see has happened on Free Republic.

For example, on any given FR thread the Social Conservatives are more passionate, more abundant, and less fearful of being banned than the Fiscal Conservatives are.

On FR, we should NOT be separated, but joined in a multi-pronged attack on the body politic: currently Socialism, but rapidly morphing into Bolshevik Marxism.

Speaking/writing ONLY for myself here on FR, I would like to see a better balance between the Fiscal And Social Conservatives by expanding your Truce to include more posting freedom for those of us who consider THE MAIN PROBLEM to be US Federal Government Overspending by “both” of our sorry political parties.

IMHO, it does NOT matter who or which party overspends OUR Federal dollars, it matters THAT our dollars were overspent!

Politicians come and go, but the Federal financial insanity of “spending more money than was taken in during the previous year” stays entrenched in our sorry political system.

To quote Margret Thatcher: “The problem with Socialism is that eventually you run out of other people’s money.”

We are those “other people.” Our politicians have TAXED US ENOUGH ALREADY. Free us to join in the two-pronged attack on Socialism: Social AND Financial.

The Liberal Agenda Media, Democrats and RINOs love it that those of us who desire to Conserve the very best of America have not mounted an attack on them to force them to live by the reality of money.

Radio announcer Paul Harvey said it best: “WHEN YOUR OUTGO EXCEEDS YOUR INCOME, YOUR UPKEEP WILL BE YOUR DOWNFALL.”

To this point in the Republican Primary Campaign, the politicians have NOT focused on this reality of money.

Santorum’s “Suspended” Campaign is an excellent example of how powerful the “Court of Public Opinion,” (owned by the Liberal Agenda Media), is in diverting attention AWAY from the reality of money.

Each American family MUST focus on the reality of money EVERY DAY.

Let us at FR challenge our sorry politicians in ALL political parties to do the same WITH OUR MONEY!

____________

” - - - Government derives its just powers from the consent of the governed.”

On this point you and I are in disagreement. We are not on the same page, but I suspect on the same chapter.

IMHO, there are no longer “Checks and Balances” in our Federal Government.

To list just a few examples of evidence: the rule of Constitutionally Justified Laws are circumvented by Regulations written by un-elected political appointees; the Majority Leader in the US Senate will never see his well-deserved view of the inside of a locked jail cell for refusing to pass a Constitutionally Mandated US Federal Budget for 3 YEARS, - - - etc., etc., etc.

In other words, the “Government” does whatever it damn well wants to, and has NO concern for what the “consent” of what we, their serfs, try to express.

____________

I apologize if I have wandered off the topic a tad. Thanks for letting me bend your ear.

I’ll get off of my Fiscal Soapbox now, and get back to work so that I can continue to pay my “fair share” of taxes to the current Sheriff of Nottingham Timmy Gee, who then can voodoo finance our very professional “public servants” to continue to buy our votes by “giving” us “Entitlements” that we no longer have the money to pay for.

_______________

As I wrote before to you, Freep mail a warning to me and I’ll comply, as I am merely a guest on you Free Republic site, and hopefully will remain a welcome one.

Sincerely,
Graewoulf.
