Here's the answer.
The FBI is examining the latest bomb to see whether it could have passed through airport security and brought down an airplane, officials said. They said the device did not contain metal, meaning it probably could have passed through an airport metal detector. But it was not clear whether new body scanners used in many airports would have detected it.

At which point they will be able to demand that everyone consent to use them or not fly. (You can make a study suggest anything.) They will take advantage of every possible opportunity to advance their agenda.
I guess we know how they found this guy now. Thanks for the info.
SANAA, Yemen An airstrike Sunday killed a top Al-Qaeda leader on the FBIs most wanted list for his role in the 2000 bombing of the USS Cole warship, Yemeni officials said. The airstrike resembled earlier US drone attacks, but the US did not immediately confirm it.
Fahd al-Quso was hit by a missile as he stepped out of his vehicle, along with another Al-Qaeda operative in the southern Shabwa province, Yemeni military officials said. They were speaking on condition of anonymity in accordance with military regulations.
The airstrike came as the US and Yemen cooperate in a battle against Al-Qaeda in southern Yemen.
Meanwhile we need to start spreading the word far and wide via twitter, facebook, etc., that if a terrorist successfully uses an underwear bomb, then he will NEVER be able to enjoy those virgins in Paradise.
Listen we’re at war with Oceania. It’s for our own safety. Or are we at war with Eurasia?
You would be correct on that.
This plot was about missions from incoming flights originating from overseas airports that do not use the new bodyscanners available in the US.
M.E. airports still use metal detectors (the walk thru, and secondary hand helds) and sometimes a pat down, but not the full sexual molestation that's become de rigueur in the US.
Severe lack of explosive sniffing equipment too, of both the mechanical and four legged variety.
