Gay group starts petition to force Dems to move convention out of NC
By Neil Munro - The Daily Caller | The Daily Caller – 7 hrs ago

A gay advocacy group is trying to rally sympathizers to help shift the Democrats’ trouble-plagued convention from North Carolina to another state.

The group, Gay Marriage USA, launched a petition on change.org immediately after the state’s voters overwhelmingly decided May 8 to define marriage as a heterosexual institution.

The state’s amendment “discriminates against LGBT people, couples & their families [and] in protest, the Democratic National Convention Committee should MOVE its convention… to a state that upholds values of equality & liberty, and which treats ALL citizens equally,” according to a statement by the group on change.org.

The petition quickly picked up roughly 15,000 votes by 11 a.m. EST, May 9.

Chicago deserves the DNC. The RNC would probably be happy to bus in thousands of “occupiers” to show their support for the Democrats in their own, unique way. On TV.

It would be like a reenactment of the 1968 DNC. Ernst Rahm Emanuel could call out the police to break heads while the anarchists tried to burn the city down.

At the same time, Chicago could host a G-8, IMF, World Bank and WTO meeting. Turn the place into “Sodom II”, providing their own fire and brimstone.

But, remember California also passed one of those marriage amendments too. Though it’s now in limbo due to federal judges overturning it.

If they are saying that the convention should only be held in a place which allows homosexual marriage, that narrows it down quite a bit. It would have to be in DC, Iowa, Massachusetts, New York, Connecticut, Vermont, or New Hampshire.

What can the president say now? He’s come out of the closet for same-sex marriage, so how can he protest if other liberals have outrage about North Carolina and their marriage amendment?????

The Charlotte selection over Cleveland is already proving to be the worst mistake Axelrod has made.

The fantasy of Obama carrying NC was put to rest yesterday. The Dems are wasting their time in NC.

== It would mean millions of dollars wasted to move it, etc and force diversion of funds from other activities.

This could be symbolic...

Speaking of toilets....

Reports now indicate installation of a retractable roof to the
Panther Stadium in Charlotte, NC, is right on schedule and
will be finished in time for the Democrat National Convention
and pResident Obama’s speech.
