Mass. governor calls Alabama immigration policy 'hysterical and poisonous;' compares it to Jim Crow

Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick compared Alabama and Arizona immigration policies to McCarthyism and Jim Crow in a speech Monday to students at Tufts University, according to a story on Boston.com.

“The actions of various states to take matters into their own hands have been ham-fisted, self-defeating, and even racist,’’ Patrick was quoted as saying.

The tone of Patrick’s speech Monday - he called much of the debate surrounding immigration reform “hysterical and poisonous’’ - has struck some state lawmakers and immigration policy specialists as more vehement than previous speeches, the story said.

“The public discourse about immigration is as toxic today as McCarthyism or Jim Crow were in their time,’’ Patrick was quoted as saying. “Now, like then, the debate seems to be based more on emotion than reason, more on slogan than fact.’’

Eva A. Millona, executive director of the Massachusetts Immigrant and Refugee Advocacy Coalition, told Boston.com that she was not surprised by the content of Patrick’s speech - she has always agreed with his stance on immigration - but was struck by its particularly brash tone.

“It’s very strong wording that really speaks to [Governor Patrick’s] belief, to his understanding, to his vision for a stronger America,’’ Millona said.

On the other hand, Jessica Vaughan - director of policy studies at the Center for Immigration Studies, a think tank that researches US immigration policy - said the governor’s fiery words Monday were a political mistake.

“The language he chooses is just as loaded and charged as the rhetoric of the people that he’s criticizing - maybe even more so,’’ Vaughan was quoted as saying. “I don’t think he could get away with giving that speech anywhere other than a college campus.’’

” I think Obama may even be smarter than Deval - if that is possible.”

Nah

Whose poisoning the well? Et tu, Deval?

First of all, he grossly misrepresents opposition to illegal immigration. He conflates legal and ILLEGAL immigration so that those who are opposed to ILLEGAL immigration are opposed to all immigration which is not and has never been the case. The news media, leftist organizations and the democratic party all do this knowingly, willingly and with malice.

How in God’s Holy Name is it wrong to be against ILLEGAL immigration? What country in this world is that an issue beside ours? Every country defends it borders from illegal crossings and non-residents coming in without a check for credentials! Many countries allow no immigration at all.

Why are Americans who want the borders secure and illegal crossings stopped racists?

The answer, orf course, is that they are not. Not racist, not hysterical, not poisonous. Not McCarthyism nor Jim Crow. Just people who want the law followed and applied equally across our Republic.

Maybe, just maybe, it is Deval Patrick who is hysterical and poisonous?

Deval Patrick is a serious diversity racist. He headed up Clinton’s Division of Civil Rights and at that time, was systematically installing discrimination orders against white males. Ward Connerly, our hero!, was fighting in courts and with state ballot initatives to establish that white males have equal rihgts to the Left’s preferred majority, minorities and women.

Deval came to Boston for a rally of “women and minorities.” He assured the perferred ones that white men don’t have a chance, because the preferred majority can just vote against them. Deval was unbelievably blunt in his determination to deny white males equal rights to ‘women and minorities.”

Thankfully, white women began to realize that systematic discrimination and oppression of the men in their families was not really to their advantage as mothers, wives, neices and sisters. Ward Connerly was successful in his effort to shore up the constitution on behalf of white males.

We never hear about Ward Connerly. But white males should never forget what he did for them. As a Black man loyal to constitutional freedom, he took a lot of hate from the left for standing up against them to derail their effort to systematically install legal and institutional orders of “non-discrimination” that were targeted at isolating and harming white males by racists like Deval.

Were I Phil Bryant Governor of the great state of Mississippi, I would publicly tell the Massachusetts Governor that the People of Mississippi & state of Mississippi believes in Law & Order regardless of the race or origins of the individuals choosing to break the laws.

If you break the law in Mississippi you will be hunted down and caught regardless of your race.
