May 11, 2012 Greek Socialists Fail to Reach Deal on Coalition

BY STELIOS BOURAS AND ALKMAN GRANITSAS

ATHENS—An end to Greece's political deadlock remained elusive for a fifth day Friday as hopes for a coalition government stumbled amid conflicting signals from two leftist parties that appear to hold the key to power and the country's future in the euro zone.

Following a day of talks with rival party leaders, Socialist party chief Evangelos Venizelos admitted defeat in forming a cross-party alliance. His counterparts from the conservative New Democracy and leftist Syriza parties also had failed earlier in the week.

Marking an end to his three-day effort, Pasok party chief Venizelos said he would meet with Greece's head ...

Its been over for a while.

Socialism never works. It only survives as long as there is a capitalist system to back it up.

The end will come when Germany finally get tired of being Europe's sugar daddy and cuts off the credit line. I have a feeling that time is very soon. The counties like Greece will discover that the only thing worse than planned Austerity, is forced Austerity when all the welfare checks start bouncing because the treasury is empty.

In that scenario the Greeks could pull an Iran. Start building a bomb and demand endless bailouts in exchange for stopping the work.

Stay out of Detroit.

MSM incompetence.

This moron had ZERO chance of forming any government. He did not even get a plurality. He is a nobody that the MSM focused upon in order to try and convince their editors for a FREE VACATION to Greece.

(BTW it is one of the vacation bargains of the year.)

Outside of that one tiny protest zone, Greece is still a bargain to vacation.

Detroit is in a more ruined state than Greece.

Detroit is literally LOST.

The Soviet Union fell when they couldn’t print paychecks any more.

Greece is still a bargain to vacation.

I suspect it will soon join the countries listed in The World's Most Dangerous Places, a tourist guide to places you should never go.

Then in my scenario, I`d go blitzkrieg on the baklava butts and stomp`em into a bloody mud puddle, take my money back out of their hides, then leave them broken, beaten, and violated like a two dollar crack whore.

Well, yeah - that has been obvious for a while. Last time I lived in MI, they proposed abandoning 79 square miles of the city to farmland - only nobody would take it.

79 square miles. And nobody wanted it.

The EPA and all that, I guess.

“Urban Mining” was a big business - buy an old house in Detroit, strip all of the old woodwork, mantels, and fixtures, and sell them at auction - then abandon the property.

After a while, the locals would burn the remains down.

The City has a fascinating improvement program - they would hire a contractor to get rid of the debris.

Said contractor would load the trash onto a truck, haul it across town, and dump it on another lot.

Later, the city would hire the same contractor, to get rid of the debris on this new lot... he would load it on a truck, haul it across town, and dump it right where it came from...

D’you know, there have been four wars fought over Detroit? In fact, it was so important to the US, it was the first city with a missile defense system.

Well, that was then.

We’re going to be facing the same thing here.

There’s going to be planned austerity, reneging on public sector pensions, or there’s going to be a total economic collapse.

The unions won’t allow the former to happen.

And then the fun really begins.

Yes. You’re in what seems to be a dodgy area, my friend. The neighborhood may hold for a while, but it’s a mighty high tide that’s coming in.

I didn't know you could build a bomb from olives. But since they have mass maybe it's possible.

We don’t have a lot of options at this point. There have been so many foreclosures and short sales in this area that all of the equity we spent 15 years building has evaporated. Even if there were anyone buying we’d never get what we owe. So selling out and leaving isn’t an option.

We are both still working, so that’s a blessing. We are socking away what we can in small bills, slamming available cash into food, medical supplies, ammunition, and the like. So we can make one hell of a stand if we have to. You know of the neighborhood network we built, I’ve shared that with you. Trouble with that is half of them are gone for the reasons our property value is largely gone. The ones that are left are solid folks, though.

If the shit gets too thick we will pack what we can carry and light out towards her parents up near Sierra National Forest but it’s going to have to get mighty damned thick before we do that. LOL

So we are here for the foreseeable future. When it comes we intend to be like one of those gigantic rocks in the Pacific that remain above the tide. If we can’t, well you’ll be able to see the waves that broke on us from orbit. We ain’t going down easy and we sure as Hell ain’t going down alone.

If we have to boogie and we make it that far maybe we will take a little detour up your way. God willing we won’t show up empty handed and we can earn our keep for a few days.

But largely my friend we just don’t have much running away in us. We have busted our asses to earn what little we have and we will be damned or dead if we are going to let a bunch of Goblins take what we have spent our lives building.

Besides we have a ring side seat just 45 miles west of what promises to be one Hell of a show once the pellet machines stop feeding the inmates. Wouldn’t want to miss that now would we...

Best of luck my friend.
