This just doesn't ring true for me.

No relevant hits for Nancy Genovese at GoogleNews.

i had some of that feeling as well. The web site, links, and updates to the story (including the denied default judgement) appear credible. The absence of this story from ANYWHERE else is eerie.

No relevant hits for Nancy Genovese at GoogleNews.

A general search for Lieutenant Iberger reveals the same story over and over on a whole bunch of different blogs, with no follow-on information. It appears this Lieutenant Iberger did retire in April from a separate news item published. However, with just a quick search I was unable to find out any other information. If this happened at the beginning of the year I would think there would be some sort of new info out there.

“All discovery has been ordered to be complete by March 16, 2012, All dispositive motions filed by March 30, 2012, and a pre-trial conference is scheduled for April 27, 2012. If discovery stays on track and there are no settlements, a trial should be scheduled for this summer.”

Oh, I see. I got my dates mixed up. This happened in 2009 but a I found an article that said a Federal Judge ruled against the Genovese lady in February 2011.

Federal judge denies judgment for nightmare arrest

I just don't see how this didn't gain a minimal amount of grassroots following country-wide if it's all true. Also, How did this police Lt. carry on for 2 years until retirement without any of the townsfolk throwing an uproar. In fact, if the PD was that fascistic how has there not been more instances of abuse or people making huge lawsuits against the town?

GoogleNews stinks. Try IXQ, lots of stories regarding her.

https://www.ixquick.com/

Just plug in her name. IXQ doesn’t track your IP, no cookies, etc.. I refuse to use Google!

Search on Nancy Genovese Suffolk, and you get a large batch of hits. She filed suit in federal court, the city failed to respond to the motion in time (city attorney pleaded “I forgot” due to family problems) narrowly escaping the plaintiff being awarded the whole $70 million by default. The suit is still making its way through the system.
