Texas requires all municipal water systems to have adequte power generation on site to keep pressures up to snuff.

What is their fuel and how long can they run for?

I reviewed the Texas code an it not only involves pumping water but waste treatment facilities are also required to have automatic start power generation power eqipment. There is no specification for the fuel but I have heard diesel is pretty much the rule.

They and hospitals can run forever with the stocks from refineries that we have available. Forever.
