Evangelicals: Mitt Romney hit right note
Politico ^ | 5/12/2012 | Ginger Gibson

LYNCHBURG, Va. — Evangelical leaders praised Mitt Romney’s speech today at Liberty University, saying that the Mormon candidate was right to acknowledge his religious differences with other Christian voters.

“It was an acknowledgment that the issues that social conservatives and evangelicals care about are important issues to Gov. Romney and as he sees them [as] part of a successful economic platform for the country,” said Family Research Council President Tony Perkins.

Perkins added that there wasn’t anything the presumptive GOP presidential nominee — who many evangelical voters regarded with skepticism during the primary while backing Rick Santorum — should have done differently. And he pointed to the huge opportunity created for Romney by President Barack Obama’s endorsement of same-sex marriage this week (Romney opposes gay marriage).

“I think he touched on the key issues that are important to social conservatives. He mentioned Rick Santorum and Rick’s emphasis and the need to have the family and the ties to economic success.” (See also: 10 essential facts about Liberty U.)

Regarding Romney’s acknowledgement that Mormonism differs from other Christian faiths in certain ways, Perkins said the candidate was correct to tackle the issue.

“That was what he needed to do, was to acknowledge that there are theological differences between him and evangelicals,” Perkins said.

All Sins can be forgiven for repentent sinners. Murderers cannot achieve repentence in this life. So, yes. All sins can be forgiven for repentent sinners.

- - - - -
All sinners except murderers that is...

Sorry, to call your brother a fool is the same as committing murder.

Gore, do you think Utah should have kept the firing squad (blood atonement)?

Are you familiar with the story of Moses, before he led the Hebrews out of Egypt? That Egyptian he murdered was not the reason he was not allowed to go into ‘the promised land’. As it happens, it was Moses and Elijah who spoke with Jesus while the three chosen disciples slept, prior to going to Jerusalem for His crucifixion. Perhaps your teachings from the previous ‘religious sources’ are in error, and it is indeed possible for a murderer to be repentent and heaven bound? Of course, in the LDS inc/Smithian religion, where one works to be worthy of salvation, it’s not so much. But then that’s one of the reasons we Inmans are constantly strivcing against the blasphemous religioon Smith established which has duped so many.

Hi Mr. Hoefling.

How many times have you been married? Divorced? How old are you? How old is your wife? If you have ever been divorced, who filed and for what reason? If you have ever been divorced, did you have children at the time?

Thanks for helping America fill in the blanks!

Some good news here. A couple fo quotes from the article:

DeMoss acknowledged that he and Romney might not always agree, joking that he’s been married for 24 years and doesn’t always agree with his wife.

“I suspect I won’t agree with Mitt Romney on everything,” DeMoss said.”But I will tell you this, I trust him, I trust him to do the right thing, the moral thing for this country. I trust his values because I am convinced they mirror my own.”

Even Jerry Falwell Jr., son of the Liberty founder and who now serves as chancellor of the school, provided a boost for Romney when he introduced him as “the next president of the United States.”

These types of activities and support are going to help push Romney over the top, and I pray to God in Heaven, in the name of my Savior, Jesus Christ, that it is so and that we remove Obama from office.

I believe in the Diety of Jesus Christ, retired...and, BTW, thank you for your service to this Republic, God bless you for it.

Jesus Christ is the Son of the living God, He was miraculously born of the virgin Mary in Bethlehem, he grew up in Nazareth, and he ultimately performed His ministry throughout Judea.

He was unjustly tried and convicted by the Romans and the Jews, and suffered on the Cross for all of our sins if we will come to Him, acknowledge Him as our Lord and Saviour, and accept the gift of His atonement. He arose the third day in a glorious resurrection and will return one day to this earth to make it His own.

I accept Him as my Savior, retired, with all my heart, and I witness and acknowledge His holy name as my Savior to you now. And I am LDS and have been for the last 42 years.

It is true we have differences in theology and interpretation...for example we believe all of us are God's children, and lived with Him before he sent us here through the womb. That He knew eachj of us before He formed us in the belly, just as He did Jeremiah in the Old Testament in Jeremiah Chpater One. That 1/3 of that host rebelled against God and that Lucifer was their leader. We also believe Jesus Christ fought the Serpent then and cast Him and his followers out of Heaven. This is spoken of in the Old Testament and referred to in the New Testament. That is the source for the saying that Christ was Lucifer's brother. It was in Spirit, in our faith, before the earth was ever created.

But that does not change a whit about the divinity of Christ, that He is the Son of God in the flesh and that He atoned for all of us.

I pray we can preserve our Republic, and my aim and goal is to help in that endeavor however I can. For my kids and grandkids sake. In memory and honor of my Father, a WW II naval combat officer of the PTO.

And my son in law, career Navy now who himself has been in harm's way for this Republic.

AMERICA AT THE CROSSROADS OF HIOSTORY

Again, thank you from my entire family for your service, and God's speed to you and yours.

Jesus Christ is God’s Son, spiritually and physically. He calls Him Father, He prays to Him. We are to pray to Him,, God the Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, His Son.

God’s voice was heard at Christ’s baptism, coming from Heaven while He was in the water. The Holy Sirit also descended. Three seperate entities/Gods.

3 times. I’m 51. My wife is 37. They did, and you don’t need a reason these days. My first wife and I were married for 19 years and had five children together, two of whom died in infancy. My oldest son Matthew and his wife Christina have also given me the two most beautiful granddaughters on the face of the planet. My daughter Kate lives a couple of blocks from me with her husband, and my son Timothy, who is a junior in high school, lives about a half mile away with his Mom.

I’m also a foster father of sorts to my niece and nephew, who lost both their parents tragically eight years ago.

My wife Siena and I have three great boys, Elijah, Sebastian, and Samuel, and a beautiful little baby girl, Gracie Ann, who is just learning to crawl.

So yes, it’s true, I’ve been married more times than Obama and Romney put together. But, ironically, of the three of us, I’m the only one who has spent his political career working to defend the institutions of marriage and the natural family.

Romney is the biggest loser candidate in Republican History. Who cares who wins. Either way it will be a liberal.
