...but you also didn’t catch the reference to “Ronnie Raygun” as being reflective of how the left has always hated him as a conservative....

Hey, lib, it was you who used that disgusting name, not me.

Not only did I "catch" that reference, but I instantly called it out for the liberal-speak it is and I outted you for the phony liberal plant that you are.

Anyone can quote from sources without attribution. You probably copied off adjacent classmates' papers in high school government class too.

It is no surprise that a liberal dissembler like yourself would do so in a vain effort to deflect from the baseless allegations you so carelessly made earlier.

You are so busted, troll.

FReegards!

LOL, thank God you sat out those years of the 2008 Romney cycle, you are one of the weirdest posters we have ever seen.

The outted liberal, ansel12, steps in it, insists on stepping in it repeatedly, and, too stupid to realize what a fool he's made of himself already, is now busted and rendered effectively speechless.

One more copycat liberal troll goes down for the count.

I will not be supporting Romney in any way, shape, fashion or form.

And that is your privilege, CynicalBear.

Vote your conscience. Go in peace.

Too bad JR called a truce on banning the Romney devotees, it sure gets hard on a conservative to have to listen to their madness.

While you're in a sharing mood, please list the FR “Romney devotees” of which you speak.

I have yet to see ONE FReeper devoted to Romney, although I have seen many who can read the writing on the wall, the choice between Obama or Romney. There is no third choice.

Oh yeah, when you compile the list for the rest of the Board to see, don't try to be cute and put my name on it.
I am only “devoted” to God and my Family.

Really? Compile a list of freepers to post on threads and argue about and discuss?

You really think that is done here at freerepublic, that is something that you want done?

I guess since you never saw a Romney devotee, although judging from your suddenly coming out of no where so angrily and lashing out so bitterly, that you have a pretty good idea of how a Romney devotee acts, and feels, and the rage they carry when Romney is disparaged in some way, you missed all the bannings over the last few years, they were pretty devoted to him.

Like much of freerepublic, including the owner, I won’t be serving Mitt Romney this election, I hope that you can find it in your heart to allow us to make that choice.

Let's have a mass homosexual wedding ceremony at the White House, shall we?

Jeepers, I hope not - but I wouldn't put it past the present administration.

Thank you so much for sharing your insights on this quandary, dear GiovannaNicoletta!

Ansel, I was addressing the “Romney devotees” you spoke of. I have yet to see anyone here that fits that description. My list request was for those people you labeled, not people that are simply discussing their possible Election choices. I was making a point, or at least I thought I was.

My comment was not intended as a defense of Romney, but of the people here who have decided at this point to support the only viable alternative to Obama in this Election. That does not make them “devotees” or “Romneybots” or whatever disparaging names thrown at them for doing what they think is necessary.

I did not come out of nowhere. I am just another Poster who took your comment towards others here as distasteful. If you had not used the the term “Romney devotees” to describe those you disagree with here, I would not have even posted to you in the first place.

Every FReeper will make their own decisions and some may be influenced by the back and forth opinions expressed here. Let's just say it is my opinion that you won't change too many minds calling people accusatory names.

If I came on too strong in my original response to you, my apologies. It does nothing to move the conversation forward. When it comes time to pull the handle, people will make their real choice. Right now, it's just dueling keyboards.

That's where they lurk; thankful for a RAT like OBAMA to make their man look "at least he's better than Obama!" good.

>”thankful for a RAT like OBAMA”<

Sorry, nobody here is “thankful” for Obama and I am sure nobody here wanted to see Romney end up as the Republican Nominee. In fact. I will bet a dollar to a donut that nobody here has yet cast a Vote for Romney.

There are people who support Romney for whatever reasons, and then there are some hard nosed Romney devotees that take on the tone of posts on this thread that they will not tolerate any dissent from their view.

I’m not the nasty pro-Romney, Reagan insulting, Romney devotee on this thread, you are complaining to the wrong guy.

Even after so many were banned, there are still people here that are devoted to Romney, some have been devotees for 6 and 7 years, occasionally calling one a Romney devotee or a romneybot is nothing radical, to suddenly try to shut down negative exposure, or information on Romney, a man who even the owner refuses to vote for, on freerepublic, is radical, and judging from this thread involves a lot of nasty personal attacks.

Romney is scum, he is the leader of the anti-conservative movement,he wants to destroy the tea party, it is one thing for a freeper to feel they have to hold their nose and vote for him in revulsion, it is an entirely different thing to compare him to Reagan, to start attacking conservatives for not adoring the man, to defend his record with lies and to start creating a false conservative history about him on the very site that has created the Romney truth files, and wants to stop him.

Rewriting Mitt Romney’s history will draw a challenge from me and other freepers, we have been building the truth file on him for at least 6 years, we know the man, and his record, it isn’t our duty to shut up and let a feel good white wash be done here by Romney devotees and activists.

JR wants us to be civil to each other, but as far as having to kowtow to Romney devotees and romneybots, I don’t think so, judging from what he posted just three days ago. (I think I was called troll, and liberal on this thread by at least one Romney devotee, look at JR’s last sentence).

There is very little difference between Romney and Obama’s actual records. Both supported abortion, gay rights, gun control, liberal judges, global warming, compulsory health insurance, individual mandates, government control over the economy, etc, in other words liberal progressive policies. And they both loathed Reagan, conservatism and the tea party.

Romney now swears he’s a Reagan conservative. He also claims that his brand of government controlled, government forced, mandated compulsory health insurance is a “free-market conservative solution.” He also still says that even if president, he would do nothing about gays in the military. You can bet that means he will do nothing to thwart the advancing gay agenda. He also still says today that man-made global warming is real and that government will eventually have to do something about it. There goes our free-economy. He also says that TARP, the bailouts, the stimulus spending, etc, were all good ideas and that more may be necessary. So he truly does believe that government control of the economy, picking winners and losers, etc, is a good thing. Crony capitalism. He never even mentions the constitution which doesn’t give the federal government the authority to do any of the above. Wonder why.

No Reaganite here, so guess that’s just another lie too.

And they now call me a troll too for simply stating the truth.

Let’s see any factual, respected account of Gov. Romney’s asking SLC for permission to run?

The official stance of the Mormon Church (www.lds.org) is that of political neutrality, so I don’t see Gov Romney requiring or seeking said permission, except were he seeking an early release from a much higher position in the LDS hierarchy.

You know, if my kids quote anything from Wikipedia in their public school, they get an “F” on that assignment. You should know better.

Brigham Young never planned on setting up a Mormon Kingdom. If you knew anything about the content of the Book of Mormon you would understand the teachings against such are very prominent therein.

And, how can a state that is not a state secede?

It is my recollection that Martin van Buren told the Mormon delegation sent to request Federal aid in their suit for justice in Missouri that “their cause was just, but he could do nothing for them” had some weight in forming the trust the Mormon leadership had in seeing their constitutional rights being protected. As Ronald Reagan stated that he had not left the Democratic party, but had seen it leave him, at that point (pre-polygamy years) the Mormons found the US government had left them already, so they were not leaving the US.

I hold hope that Agamemnon is right in his thought that Romney was suing for the best and most moderate position he could while in Massachussetts, and that an influx of more Conservative persons in Congress will keep him leaning Right.
